Flagship Audi Showroom in Kuala Lumpur Opens
Kuala Lumpur, Thursday, 18 March 2010 – Euromobil Sdn Bhd had their new flagship Audi Kuala Lumpur showroom opened by the Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, who also unveiled the Audi R8 V10.
Located at the intersection of Jalan Imbi and Jalan Bukit Bintang, the Audi Kuala Lumpur showroom is a one and a half storey terminal with a built up area of 8,048 square feet, based on the Audi Terminal concept, which appears to be somewhat different from the Hangar showroom located in Glenmarie, Shah Alam. The core of the Terminal concept combines aspects of spatial, asymmetrical, transparent and dynamic elements consistent with Audi’s identity, while maintaining its distinct individuality. This investment in the new facility indicates Euromobil’s intention to expand the Audi brand in the Malaysian automotive market.
This latest 3S centre complements the current centres located in Shah Alam, Juru and Johor Bahru. A new service centre to be located in Jalan Chan sow Lin is scheduled for a May opening later on, in line with Euromobil’s strategy to increase Audi’s share of the luxury car market, encouraged by the favourable market trend in the last quarter, which translated to higher Audi sales for 2009.
Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Khamil bin Jamil, Chairman of Euromobil, and Group Managing Director of DRB-HICOM Berhad, stated, “I am pleased to report that Euromobil under the DRB-HICOM’s banner with new management team on board since September 2008, Audi’s market share in the luxury car market has increased to 5.0 percent in 2009. This is reflected in Audi’s total percentage of growth in sales between 2008 and 2009, doubling over a 102 percent increase.”
To support the positive growth in new car sales and existing Audi customers, Euromobil has embarked on an extensive customer care programme to ensure excellent service and value to Audi owners in Malaysia.
Dato’ Sri Khamil further declared, “In conjunction with the official opening of Audi Kuala Lumpur, we are earmarking this event with the debut of the R8 V10 in Malaysia. This outstanding driving machine is the result of experience and knowledge garnered through Audi’s string of victories at Le Mans – the world’s oldest sports car competition in endurance racing, more commonly known as the Grand Prix of Endurance. The R8 V10 is renowned for its double victory in the “World Car of the Year Awards” in 2008 in the category of “world Performance Car” as well as “World Car Design of the Year”.
The R8 V10 comes with a ten-cylinder V engine, built on an all aluminium space frame, and features Quattro (all-wheel drive) system. Zero to 100 km/h is achieved in a mind-boggling 3.9 seconds.
