Stretched edition of Hyundai Equus launched
The Hyundai Equus, recently showcased to Malaysians in a special series of preview exhibitions, is now available in a stretched edition which Hyundai calls the Equus Limousine for their home market in Korea.
The overall length of the already massive Equus has been stretched by 300mm to form the Equus Limousine, with all the additional length going into the wheelbase section. Compared to rivals from Mercedes, BMW, and Lexus (yes, that’s where Hyundai are aiming), the Equus Limousine boasts as much as 376mm additional legroom for the all-important backseat passengers.
From the base Equus, the 286hp Lambda 3.8 V6 engine is carried over to the Limousine, while the 361hp Tau 4.6 V8 has been expanded and reinforced, now displacing 5.0 litres, and producing 395hp.
Interior luxuries and creature comforts include a power-driven footrest, Rear Seat Leg Support, Relax Posture Control (no, we have no idea what that is either), and a Massage System Function.
In Korea, prices the new Equus Limousine will range from 135 million won to 146 million won (RM399k – RM431k), depending on specification level.
A bulletproof version of the Equus Limo is also available, three of which are given to the Blue House (Korea’s answer to the White House, of course).
