Toyota Vios TRD Sportivo Introduced
Shah Alam, 16 June 2009 – UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd plans to sell 500 units of the Vios TRD Sportivo a month in Malaysia. This variant replaces the Vios 1.5S.
Speaking at the media preview held at the UMW Toyota Motor headquarters ain Shah Alam, Mr. Kuah Kock Heng, President of UMW Toyota motor said, “We are confident that this model will continue to maintain its position as the leader in its category. Last year, the Vios comprised a 32% share of all Toyota vehicles sold, and as of May 2009, it comprise(s) a 36% share of total Toyota vehicles sold. With the Vios TRD, we are sure Vios will continue its growth momentum,”
More than 130,000 units of Vios have been sold in Malaysia since its launch here in 2003. With the launch of the 2nd Generation Vios is 2007, an additional variant – S (Sports) was launched to become the flagship model for the line, and this is now replaced by the Vios TRD Sportivo.
The Vios TRD development is a result of feedback from customers that indicated there was demand for a Vios with a stronger sports orientation, and is a joint effort between UMW Toyota Motor and TRD Asia.

Warranty is 3 years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first. Bookings are open as of today, at an estimated price of RM90,900.
