Naza Italia Brings Maserati To Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur, 26th February 2009 – Here’s some good news for Maserati fans. Maserati Italy has appointed Naza Italia Sdn Bhd as the sole importer and distributor for Maserati in Malaysia for the complete range of Quattroporte and GranTurismo cars; Naza Italia shall also be providing service facilities for the brand.
In a symbolic ceremony welcoming the Maserati “Excellence Through Passion” brand, SM Faisal, Group Chief Executive Officer of Naza Group of Companies and Naza Italia CEO said, “Naza Italia is proud to be able to bring the complete spectrum of the Maserati Quattroporte and GranTurismo models, especially the latest Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S which was recently launched in America and the Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic which will be launched in Europe.”
Mr. Simone Niccolai, Managing Director Maserati Asia Pacific said, “Naza Italia’s automotive track record and the leadership of SM Faisal are truly the winning formula, which we seek. We feel privileged to have a highly experienced partner who shares the same passion that we do at Maserati and that is a highly valuable asset, which will undoubtedly assure our market success here in Malaysia.”
A RM10 million investment underscores Naza Italia’s total commitment and dedication to the long term success of this venture. As part of the development of the Maserati business, Naza Italia is embarking on a Maserati-led training program in sales and after sales. The showroom is currently under construction, and when completed in the very near future, this location in Petaling Jaya will be recorded in the Malaysian Book of Records as the largest automotive showroom in the country; it will house 45,000 square feet of car display and service centre, complete with waiting lounges, delivery bay, and a merchandising display area for genuine Maserati merchandise.
Intending Maserati buyers will be able to ‘personalise’ their cars at the point of purchase; for the exterior, there are various ranges of colours, different types of wheels, and even different colours for the high performance brake callipers. For the interior, customers will be able to select their preferred leather options, including the stitching colours, carpets, roof linings, wood and lacquer finish, to suit their own preferences. A computer simulation program allows the prospective buyer to visualise exactly what the car they are ordering looks like after the personalisation exercise.
Prices for the Maserati models shall start from RM1.0 million, and the actual prices will depend on the final specifications after the personalisation exercise. After a confirmed order, the building takes about 3 weeks, after which the car can be shipped to the customer.
The public will be able to view the Maserati GranTurismo and Quattroporte on 27th & 28th February 2009 at the Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur Conference Centre Lobby from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm.
