Touch N Go trumpets another success in moving towards a cashless society through the usage of its Electronic Payment System (EPS) card during the launching of “Beyond the roads” at Suria KLCC today by Malaysia’s first cosmonaut, YBhg. Datuk Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor. This event marks the grand launch of Touch ‘n Go card system at KLCC parking as one of Touch ‘n Go’s landmark parking project in 2009.

To date, Touch ‘n Go has attained partnership with 31 parking sites which includes KLIA, LCCT, KL Sentral, Sg. Wang Plaza, One Utama, Jaya 1, Subang Parade, Pantai Hospital and SJMC. Now Touch ‘n Go is adding another landmark to its list making KLCC the 32rd parking facilities that has Touch ‘n Go’s electronic payment system facility. Touch ‘n Go plan to increase the number to 60 parking areas thought Klang Valley.

“Beyond the roads” marks a special orientation to announce Touch ‘n Go’s breakthrough to areas of services other than the roads. The current supportive partners on board that accept Touch ‘n Go card as a payment method at KLCC outlets are Burger King, A & W and Dunkin’ Donuts.

Along the way in serving and meeting the customers’ needs and wants with the best services, Touch ‘n Go has recently equipped 157 merchants outlets in Klang Valley and along the North-South Highway with its payment facility. Besides KLCC, other merchants like Station 1 Cafe, Cathay Cineplex, Steven’ts Tea Garden, Kaya Kopitiam, Daily Fresh, Baskin Robins, Golden Oven, 7 Eleven and Caltex are also amongst the participating merchants which are equipped with Touch ‘n Go payment facility. Touch ‘n Go is striving to increase the number of merchants outlets to 1500 by the end of year 2009, simultaneously achieving the sales goal of 1 million cards.

To date, the UEM Mercu’s new building is running on a 100% cashless e-payment system via Touch ‘n Go card while Bank Negara Malaysia’s cafeteria also using the same method as part of their cashles mode of payment.

YBhg. Datuk Yahya Ya’acob, Chairman of Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd in his speech stated that it is Touch ‘n Go’s mission to serve its customers with better services and with the usage of Touch ‘n Go card at parking bays, customers will be experiencing speed, convenience as well as eradicating the need to care for a parking ticket.. its all in one card!
“We are proud of this partnership with KLCC and it is our hope that this event can spearhead a movement within the customers especially theh younger generation to form a cashless society and to instill the desire within them to manage their finances better with a prepaid card like Touch ‘n Go”, he added.

In conjunction with the launch, Touch ‘n Go took the opportunity to introduce a special “Beyond the roads” limited edition Touch ‘n Go card. The new limited edition Touch ‘n Go sports a vibrant new look that appeals to the youth.
