In today’s economic climate, it would appear indulgent to splurge on a fine automobile when those around us are limiting their spending to necessities. But with the new Isuzu D-Max Hi-DEF however, you don’t need to make sacrifices nor excuses for enjoying one of the most well-appointed pick-up trucks in the market.

Based on the highly-fuel efficient and versatile Super Commonrail 3-litre model, the 2008 Isuzu D-Max Hi-DEF allows owners to stand out from the crowd as it comes finished with an array of distinctive features that would make it the envy of any pick-up truck owner. And best of all, these items come factory-fitted by Isuzu so owners can continue to enjoy the full warranty on the car as well as on the additional items.

Launched in Kuala Lumpur today by Kyoya Kondo, CEO of Isuzu Malaysia, the new Hi-DEF Limited Edition stands apart from ordinary pick-up trucks and fits in perfectly to the growing segment of owners who want the versatility of a rugged vehicle without having to look the part.

“With the Hi-DEF, we are able to bridge the divide between the head and the heart. After all, customers will still enjoy the benefits of versatility, fuel efficiency, durability and reliability inherent in all Isuzu vehicles. Now, it just comes in a more striking package,” said Kondo.

While the standard D-Max already sports a sharp design characteristic, the 2008 Hi-DEF now comes with an even more eye-catching and distinctive look with its array of chrome-plated features such as radiator grille, front bumper guard and fog lamp housing that accentuate the strong lines of the car.

Drivers with varying needs also will appreciate the fact that the new Hi-DEF comes fitted with a choice of either an exclusive ‘D-Box’ sport lid or a unique anodized tubular aluminium roll bar to meet individual loading demands.

The D-Box, exclusively developed by Isuzu Malaysia offers the ideal loading solution for Malaysian motorists as it not only protects contents from monsoon weather with a lockable and lighted cover, part of the lid can also be user-removed so carrying tall items is a cinch.

In keeping with its distinctive outlook, the side-steps are made of aluminium, with end caps finished in body-colour while studded inserts accentuate the elegance of the design. Open the door and the Isuzu sill logo lights up in greeting, giving yet another personal touch to the Hi-DEF. Of course when you open the door, you will be able to enjoy the bouquet of pure Italian leather wafting out to greet you.

The leather-wrapped seats and door trim feature double satin stitching with an embroidered D-Max logo on the front seats to give it that added distinctiveness.

With much of the D-Max already comfortable by any standard, the main addition to the Hi-DEF inside comes in the form of the integrated entertainment and navigation command centre.

This 7-inch touch screen multimedia unit is able to playback just about any format of encoding including MP3, MPEG4 and movies via CD, CDRs, VCD, DVD, DVD-R or via USB or auxiliary cable connections. You can even slot in your camera’s SD card to review pictures well before you reach home.

To keep you from losing your way, there is a GPS satellite navigation system built into the system and it works in conjunction with a reverse camera to help you ease into that tight spot. The system also comes with a Bluetooth hands-free connection that will sync to most major phones for safe driving.

The new Isuzu D-Max Hi-DEF is a limited-edition version and will only number an exclusive 200 units nationwide. It comes in two special colours – Midnight Maroon Mica and Mercury Silver Metallic – and can be ordered to come with Manual or Automatic, 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrains.

The Isuzu D-Max Hi-DEF Limited Edition commands a starting on-the-road price from RM 92,378.10 without insurance (RM 93,778.60 in Sabah)(RM 93,311.10 in Sarawak) and is available at all Isuzu authorised showrooms immediately.
