Free Test Drives & Huge Discounts at Land Rover & Alfa Romeo Carnival
Petaling Jaya, Monday (May 12, 2008) – Land Rover and Alfa Romeo owners and enthusiasts can look forward to a weekend of fun, test-drives and great bargains for parts and accessories at the first-ever combined Land Rover and Alfa Romeo Carnival to be held at Section 13 Petaling Jaya on May 31 and June 1, 2008 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
The two-day carnival, aimed at bringing together owners and enthusiasts of the two luxury marques under the Sime Darby group from around the country and Singapore, will have activities for the entire family.
Land Rover (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Sime Darby Auto Italia Sdn Bhd are inviting owners to bring their vehicles in for a free safety check at the respective service centres located next to each other at Jalan 13/2. Various original Land Rover and Alfa Romeo parts and accessories will be on sale at discounts of up to 80 per cent. A portion of the sales during the carnival will be donated to the PAWS animal shelter.
Visitors can test drive some of the latest models such as the new Defender 110 pick-up featuring the more powerful Puma engine and the luxurious Range Rover Sport 4.2 HSE Supercharged from Land Rover and the sleek GT Coupe and 147 2.0 Selespeed hatchback from Alfa Romeo.
At the Land Rover showroom, a classic 1958 Land Rover Series 1 similar to that used by former Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman during the declaration of independence will be on display.
Visitors can also have a close-up look at some unique military vehicles that took part at the recent Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2008 exhibition. They include the locally developed and built Defender 130 6 x 4 Puma Satellite Vehicle, the first of its kind in the world; and the new 3-door Defender 110 Hard Top that has been specially configured as a Fit-for-Radio (FFR) vehicle for the armed forces.
The carnival will also provide a platform for Land Rover and Alfa Romeo owners and enthusiasts to buy and sell used units. Those who intend to sell their Land Rovers or Alfas can register and display their vehicles during the two-day event. Potential buyers will enjoy the convenience of being able to check the vehicles’ service history and condition at the respective service centres. They can also have the vehicles of their choice appraised by participating credit firms and obtain financing.
There will be plenty of activities to keep children occupied. They can try catching fishes and turtles to take home, participate in the England versus Italy mini football challenge, have their faces painted or enjoy a movie in the children’s room.
Aside from test-driving the latest Land Rover and Alfa models, the ladies can take part in cooking demonstrations featuring popular British and Italian delicacies.
