Perfect retirement vehicle

I have found my perfect retirement vehicle. Should I find myself staring at a huge pile of cash when I’m 50 years old then I will go straight to Unicat and order one of these.

Of course my idea of retirement may well be very different from yours. When I am 50 I want to become a traveler/writer/photographer and documentary maker and really do what I want.

I will man the still camera while the wife will be in charge of all video capture, or it may be the other way around since video equipment are heavier.

We will travel around the world and visit the road less traveled in one of these.

The Unimog

Based on Mercedes Benz’s ultimate go-anywhere, this thing should have no problem allowing us to treat lightly to even the most remote location.

Its drop-axle give the Unimog huge ground clearance so obstacles that confound other off-road vehicles are mere inconveniences in these.

Check out the galley,

dining area and shower/toilet. Even comes with heater.

The Amerigo International

Based on an International truck, this is a bigger vehicle and offers a bit more room for equipment and such.

Fully fueled, this baby can go on for 3,400 kilometres non stop. How about that for range.

Again, full amenities is the order of the day, you have everything you need. It is essentially a very rugged Recreational Vehicle (RV).

The MAN 6×6

This is the ultimate RV for me. With all six wheels turning and giving traction, this behemoth can go anywhere

and is big enough to pack its own quad bike.

In fact it is so luxurious that it comes with a professional grade Espresso machine so you can share fresh brew with friends along the way.

This one has separate head and shower

and a loft bed that is way cool.

  1. Wow, one of those vehicle that I would loved to travel in as well! Was looking at some for my NZ-trip-planning few years back (which was never realized :( and went to HK instead.) Guess will have to wait till my kids are older first! But not buying obviously! Renting would be sufficient!
