BMW Malaysia Launches BMW 325i Sports
Kuala Lumpur, 19 January 2007 – In keeping to its promise of offering variety and availability in terms of the breadth of BMW cars in the Malaysian car market, BMW Malaysia Sdn Bhd today announced the launch of latest locally assembled variant, the 3-Series sports sedan – BMW 325i Sports.
The new BMW 325i Sports, a new 3 Series variant of the New York International Auto Show World Car of the Year 2006, not only features the 2.5 litre six-cylinder double-VANOS, VALVETRONIC engine which is capable of developing a maximum output of 218 bhp but in addition is also equipped with the M Sports Package which includes the M Aerodynamics kit, 18’’ Star Spoke M Light Alloy Wheels with run-flat tyres, M Sports Suspension, M Leather Steering Wheel.
The highlight of the BMW 325i Sports, however, is the introduction of the BMW Navigation System Professional on the I-Drive platform, available for the first time in any sedan of this class.
Wolfgang Schlimme, Managing Director, BMW Malaysia Sdn Bhd said the company expects to see stronger sales with the given availability and choice of the new BMW 3 Series Sports.
“Last year, we continued to invest in our strategy that concentrated in providing choice and availability to our customers. This strategy led us to increase our investment with our partner Sime Darby in the local assembly of the 3 Series in three variants. Today, we raised the benchmark a notch higher with the new 325i Sports.” Schlimme said.
Schlimme added that in offering choice and availability, the Marque also never wavered from its initiatives in continuing to import other BMW models so that Malaysian customers can continue to enjoy BMW’s full line-up.
This was clearly illustrated as BMW Malaysia Sdn Bhd also launched the new BMW 3 Series Coupe and the BMW Z4 M Coupe alongside the BMW 325i Sports.
The new BMW 3 Series Coupe, available in two variants namely the BMW 323i Coupe and the BMW 335i Coupe, is the embodiment of sportiness, performance with unmistakable elegance with the top engine option, the BMW 335i Coupe featuring BMW’s new 3.0 litre six cylinder in-line engine with second generation direct injection (High Precision Injection) and Twin Turbo chargers.
The BMW Z4 M Coupe, meanwhile, is set to create waves in the Malaysian sports roadster market with its impressive design, fascinating sound and unmatched driving performance.
The new locally assembled BMW 325i Sports as well as the BMW 3 Series Coupe and the BMW Z4 M Coupe are available in showrooms at all authorised BMW dealerships.
