Penang: 2nd December 2006:
Here is some very good news for Citroen owners!
Barely a couple of weeks after officially opening its Kuala Lumpur operations,
Brooklands Motors Sdn Bhd, the sole Citroën Authorised Repairer for Malaysia, demonstrated its commitment to provide top class service to Citroen owners in Malaysia by adding another branch to its network by the official opening of its Penang facility for sales, service and parts. The occasion was graced by Mr. Jen Marie Bussiere, Deputy Sales Director, International Operations Division, Automobiles Citroën. Also present during the official opening ceremony was Mr. Benoit de Lassus, Regional General Manager, Citroën Regional Headquarters, South & South-east Asia as well as 22 journalists who test-drove the Citroën’s C4 5-door, C4 3-door, Xsara Picasso, C2 and C8 models from Kuala Lumpur to Penang.

“The Brooklands Motors Citroen Authorised Repairer facility in Penang which is located at the Highway Auto City, Phase II in Juru has a total area of 12,000 sq. ft. with a built-up area of 10,000 sq. ft., including a 4,000 sq. ft. workshop, 600 sq. ft. parts storage area, 3,400 sq. ft showroom area and 2,000 sq. ft of office space. We sincerely hope that Citroën owners in Penang will take the opportunity to drop by and visit us and allow us the chance to perform a free 15-point Inspection on their Citroën.”, said Encik Muhammad Fadhil Ahmad, the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Brooklands Motors

According to Mr. Melvinder Singh, the Chief Operating Officer of Brooklands Motors, “The Brooklands Centre workshop has everything and anything that a customer or his Citroën might need. It has the latest Citroën diagnostic equipment which can communicate live between a vehicle and the Citroën Regional Technical Centre in Japan, this allows us to provide quick solutions without delays due to big time differences between Malaysia and France. We are also providing software updates for every vehicle we inspect.”

In both the Kuala Lumpur and Penang facilities, customers observe the work being done on their cars through the glass panels that separate the customer lounge and the workshop. The customer lounge in the main facility in Kuala Lumpur will surely welcome the cool atmosphere in the air-conditioned lounge, and will be able to relax and watch their favourite programmes on Astro or have a panoramic view of their cars being serviced or repaired. In addition, there is free flow of hot beverages, and magazines to while away the time. For the internet savvy types, there is also free wi-fi. For children, there is a dedicated play area with mobiles and toys. Of course, on a more serious note, there is also a dedicated service customer reception area for consultation with Citroën Service Advisors. The Penang facility is a smaller set-up, but it has all the essential equipment required to provide complete service to Citroen owners.

Mr. Melvinder added, “We have always believed that the key to brand building is in the quality and the level of service that we provide to our customers. With Citroën, we will start with an active after sales vehicle population of around 2,000 vehicles and we will have to do everything we possibly can to serve these customers efficiently from day one. This really presents us with the opportunity to prove that we are a customer focused organisation and to show our commitment to the brand and its loyal owners. We are confident that the Brooklands Motors Penang branch will enhance customer confidence in the Citroën brand in the Northern Region and this in turn will improve the sales of new vehicles and the residual values of used vehicles.”
