Mercedes-Benz Autohaus Opens in Mutiara Damansara
Petaling Jaya, 16 March 2006 – Good news for Petaling Jaya residents. Now, while your wife and kids are out shopping in the Mutiara Damansara area, you can mosey over to the new Mercedes-Benz Autohaus to oggle at your dream Mercedes-Benz model, and perhaps put your money down on one. This particular one is under the auspices of Cycle & Carriage Bintang Berhad, now part of the Jardine Cycle & Carriage Group, and this one is the third outlet based on the Autohaus theme owned by the group.
The Autohaus showroom’s opening was officiated by Dato’ Frank Steinleitner, President & CEO of DaimlerChrysler Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and Tan Sri Abdul Halim bin Ali, Chairman of Cycle & Carriage Bintang Berhad. Also attending the event were customers and business partners.
Cycle & Carriage Bintang is the largest and oldest Mercedes-Benz dealership for Mercedes-Benz cars in Malaysia. The Autohaus showroom concept offers a pleasant and friendly environment for customers wishing to buy a Mercedes-Benz.
“This Autohaus showroom is another addition to the new era in automotive retail experience, which awaits the residents of the new Golden Triangle in Petaling Jaya. Customers can conveniently drop their car here, enjoy a nice meal and perhaps do some shopping or watch a movie a stone’s throw away and by the time they are done, their car will be ready for pick-up,” said Steven Foster, Managing Director, Cycle & Carriage Bintang Berhad.
The Autohaus was built with a total investment of RM22 million and consists of a showroom and a workshop, with a total workforce of 50 employees.
“The Malaysian automotive scene presents a great opportunity for Cycle & Carriage Bintang to raise the customer service bar and establish a strong foothold and presence in an extremely competitive category. With our third Mercedes-Benz Autohaus, I am confident that our differentiated offerings will be influential in helping DaimlerChrysler Malaysia and the Group achieve its business objectives,” added Foster.
Dato’ Frank Steinleitner, President & CEO of DaimlerChrysler Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. said the Company has already established 13 Autohaus showrooms nationwide and by end of 2006, there will be 4 more added to the list, giving the Company a final total of 17 Autohaus showrooms.
“We continuously ensure that our retail network is of high quality. This new Autohaus showroom concept provides both functionality and a fresh design that is customer focused while the standardised architecture and uniform brand image of its facilities reflect the quality and brand value of Mercedes-Benz vehicles,” added Dato’ Steinleitner.
The Autohaus project is a global initiative by DaimlerChrysler AG to create a uniform worldwide brand touch point with the objective of providing Mercedes-Benz customers with an enhanced emotional retail experience.
A total of 17 Autohaus showrooms are due for completion by end of 2006 with a total investment of RM120 million by Mercedes-Benz dealers.
The Cycle & Carriage Bintang’s Mutiara Damansara Autohaus showroom operating hours are from 8.00am to 8.00pm from Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm on Saturday, and 11.00am to 5.00pm on Sunday.
