Liquid Glass Coating for Your Automobile

Liquid Glass Coating for Your Automobile

Car owners can now better protect themselves against the sun’s harmful rays and keep the heat out using the KristalBond liquid glass coating.

KristalBond is a protective glass coating using a revolutionary ultra-low temperature Sol-Gel bonded to glass windows of vehicles, homes and offices.

Previously, there was only film tinting and with only one technology, that was not much of a choice. KristalBond offers a more technologically advanced way of blocking out 99% of the sun’s harmful Ultra-violet (UV) rays and 90% of the sun’s Infrared rays with minimal effect on visible light transmission.

KristalBond is a liquid at its initial stage. It turns into a solid crystal-like material when it dries. The process is similar to that used in the making of optical fiber and lenses. The KristalBond liquid is applied onto the glass surface to form a protective layer and is chemically bonded onto glass surface without using adhesives.

What makes KristalBond unique is that it can dry and harden at and below room temperature without the need to be heated at high temperatures (between 400°C and 800°C).
Once applied onto a glass surface, it is left to dry like a coat of paint. Depending on the surface area of glass and conditions, it takes about one and a half hours for the liquid to cure and dry (tack-free).

KristalBond offer several other benefits that include:
– Structural Safety – maintains the manufacturer’s original technical specifications of the laminated and tempered glass for safety purposes.
- Supreme Day & Night Clarity – possesses high visible light transmission level and low haze level characteristics.
- Toll-Devices Friendly – allow normal readings of toll and other infrared devices.
- Energy Savings – reduces air-conditioner’s loading as the interior cools faster.
- Durable – KristalBond does not peel, bubble or delaminate due to constant sun exposure because it does not use adhesives.
- Non-flammable – KristalBond does not burn and does not exude toxic fumes.

As an assurance, KristalBond complies with the Visible Light Transmission (VLT) level set by the JPJ, Road Transport Department (RTD). VLT readings are taken before a car is KristalBonded to determine the correct KristalBond mixture. A second reading is taken after the car is KristalBonded to confirm it complies with RTD regulations.

KristalBond also complies with other RTD’s regulations as it has a low haze level reading, which retains the glass’s natural clarity. Physically, KristalBond is non-reflective and this enhances visual clarity so that the driver can see and be seen clearly during the day and at night.

KristalBond can be applied on glass surfaces of motor vehicles and residential and commercial buildings of different shapes and sizes.

Pricing depends on the total glass surface area. As such, it varies depending on size and type of vehicles.
KristalBond comes with a 5-year warranty against peeling, bubbling and delaminating for car windscreens and windows. For enquiries please visit www.kristalbond.com.

Difference between KristalBond and tinted film

KristalBond Tinted film
Forms a seamless chemical bond with the glass surface. Plastic film attached to glass surface using a layer of adhesive.
Durable and long lasting. Adhesive layer deteriorates over time – bubbles, delaminate and peels.
Distortion-free vision and high clarity day and night. Tends to distort and obscure vision.
Does not change manufacturer’s glass safety specification. Changes manufacturer’s glass safety specification.
Non-flammable. Burns easily.
