Peugeot 407 Evente – Malaysia’s First LUV
PEUGEOT 407 EVENTE – MALAYSIA’S 1ST LIFESTYLE UTILITY VEHICLE (LUV)
Kuala Lumpur, 8 June 2005 – Cycle & Carriage Automobiles Sdn Bhd, sole distributor of Peugeot cars in Malaysia, introduced another variant of the Peugeot 407 today, the Peugeot 407 Evente.
“The name arose from our realization that the creation fits all occasions; be it executive duties or recreational activities without having to compromise on the styling, and sets it apart from all others” said Mr Foster, Managing Director of Cycle & Carriage Bintang Berhad.
Cycle & Carriage Automobiles Sdn Bhd also have effectively created a new segment in the automobiles market in Malaysia. It is called L.U.V. – Lifestyle Utility Vehicle. Mr Foster further said “When we searched in the market to see if there was any other car that could provide the space of an SUV while retaining the styling of a passenger car, we realized that the 407 Evente had a unique place and thus the birth of what we call a LUV, the Lifestyle Utility Vehicle”.
The 407 Evente has some similar specifications and characteristics as the 407 SR such as 8 airbags, ESP, Tiptronic System Porsche gearbox, 2 litre engine, cruise control with speed limiter, and superb handling thru the double wishbone suspensions.
An interesting feature of the Evente is the full-length sunroof that runs from the top of the front windscreen all the way to the rear. A special 5-stage intermittent control allows partial or full opening of the sunroof, giving the Evente a very roomy feeling, and allows occupants to have a panoramic view of the surroundings. At the rear, a tailgate window enables one to retrieve things from the car boot without opening the boot itself, while the complete boot opens up wide and from the floor to enable easy loading and unloading of large articles. Both the front seats are height adjustable, enabling more comfort and control, while the front passenger seat is fitted with the ISOFIX child seat.

The Peugeot 407 Evente priced at RM176,594.00 on the road without insurance, is more than just another car. It is a revelation to drive and an exquisite site to behold. We did not have a chance to test drive the vehicle, but are looking forward to it. They are already on show at all dealer outlets in the country.
