Penang Scoot Fest

    Penang, Monday, April 11, 2005: Last weekend saw the participation of Moto Millia Sdn Bhd in the northern region’s Penang Scoot Fest ’05 where they displayed a range of Aprilia scooters to the public.
    The two-day event, held at the Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) managed to draw close to 3,000 visitors which included members of various scooter clubs from the island and as far as Ipoh, Alor Setar and even Kuala Lumpur.
    The inaugural scooter-oriented event saw various brands of scooters and underbone bikes on display mainly by dealers and manufacturers. There was also several competitions such as scooter sprint races and airbrushing displays during that period.
    Moto Millia Sdn Bhd had three booths where they displayed the Atlantic 200, Scarabeo 200 and the latest Sportcity 200 models. However, what caught the attention of the youths was the sporty-designed Sportcity scooters which is currently considered the top 200cc scooter in the market.
    The Scarabeo, in its retro styling, and Atlantic models also managed to gain some attention from the general public.
    Besides displaying the scooters, the Aprilia booth also attracted the attention of Penang’s Youth and Sports exco YB Dato’ Hajjah Jahara Abd. Hamid who was also the guest-of-honour at the event.
    The VIP visitor also took the opportunity to learn about Aprilia’s various models and later tried her hand on-board a Sportcity scooter that was displayed.
    Moto Millia Sdn Bhd managing director Razak Al-Malique said that the participation of Aprilia at the Penang Scoot Fest ’05 was a move to introduce the brand and their range of scooters to the northern region.
    “The two day event gave us an opportunity to promote our extensive scooter range and also to gauge feedback on our products.
    “We are confident that the northern market will appreciate our participation as it caters to the different lifestyles of scooter enthusiasts,” he said.
