Used BMWs Almost As Good as New

Used BMWs Almost As Good as New

You want to own a BMW but your present financial situation just doesn’t permit buying a new one? Well, Auto Bavaria can put you in a BMW for less than what you expect but the catch is that the car will not be brand new.

However, given the refurbishment it has gone through, plus a limited warranty, it is almost as good as buying a new BMW. This is what can be expected from the cars sold by the Auto Bavaria Approved Cars Centre in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur.

Each used BMW sold by Auto Bavaria Approved Cars Centre comes with a full service history and has undergone thorough inspection and service. The approved cars contain genuine parts with new ones installed where necessary. They are also given a new coat of paint (if needed). Customers have the peace of mind in knowing that cars which are four years old or less come with a 6-month warranty.

The cars offered are selected from those which customers have traded-in when they have bought a new BMW, or are from the company fleet where they have been used by executives. There are usually around 30 units of various models available.

According to Auto Bavaria General Manager – Sales and Marketing, Tunku Badlishah bin Tunku Annuar, the decision to invest in building up the approved cars business was prompted by consistently good demand for used BMWs that have gone through the company’s hands.

“There are many who want to experience the sheer driving pleasure of a BMW. Our Approved Cars Centre makes this goal attainable by making it possible for a wider segment of the market to own a used BMW of assured quality that is also more affordable. As a reputable company, Auto Bavaria is able to offer every customer the assurance that they are getting quality products,” he said.

Auto Bavaria Managing Director Rajan Thurairatnam added that trends in mature markets such as the United Kingdom and the United States have shown that sales of used cars make up a significant portion of a dealership’s business.

“A dealer in these countries typically sells two to three times the number of used cars compared to new cars. The situation is somewhat different in Malaysia at present as new cars sell more,” he explained.

“Although the approved cars business is not yet seen as a major revenue contributor in the short term, we believe that it would be a crucial tool to reach out to a wider market. In the long run, we hope to convert customers who have had a good experience with a used BMW from Auto Bavaria into buying new BMWs from us when their purchasing powers increase,” added Mr Rajan.

Though it is now publicising its used car business more actively, Auto Bavaria has been involved in the activity ever since it acquired the BMW distributorship back in the late 1980s. In fact, it has been able to make a success of the business which is by no means an easy one considering that they have rivals from used car dealers as well as the private importers. However, with their reputation and relationship with BMW, many customers would have felt more comfortable buying a used BMW from Auto Bavaria.

Now that Auto Bavaria’s status has changed to that of a main dealer chain for BMW. It is clearly broadening its business activities to maintain the sort of revenues it enjoyed in the past, and its Approved Cars Centre should be an important part of operations.
