Petronas Provides Coffee Break for Motorists Again

For the third year running, Petronas is providing free drinks to motorists at its service stations located along the highways and busy trunk roads during its Coffee Break campaign for the Hari Raya and Chinese New Year seasons.

The Coffee Break campaign, which is in its third year, is organised in collaboration with other companies is to promote road safety and, at the same time, make the journey home safe and pleasant for motorists. The campaign, with the tagline “Be Smart, Take A Break”, aims to encourage weary travellers to take a break at participating Petronas stations as they drive home.

During the campaign, 22 participating stations around Peninsula Malaysia are serving free Nescafe and soya bean at a special mobile counter placed outside the Kedai Mesra stores of the stations.

Lucky motorists will also stand the chance to get surprise gifts from Petronas on each day during the campaign. Other fun activities are also planned at various venues.

The Coffee Break campaign started before Hari Raya Aidil Fitri for the convenience of those on their balik kampong journey. It resumed on December 10 (Tuesday) and continues until December 12 (Thursday) to cater for motorists travelling back after the celebration. The campaign will resume during Chinese New Year in early February 2003.

The first Petronas Coffee Break campaign was held in December 2000 during the Christmas and Hari Raya Aidil Fitri double celebration, during which time it received overwhelming response from the public. Since then, the campaign has been extended to other major festivals when Malaysians travel to celebrate the festivals with their family and loved ones.
