Art Exhibition at Quasar Carriage
If you visit the Quasar Carriage showroom in Petaling Jaya, Selangor between now and December 2 2002, don’t be surprised if you don’t find any cars in it. During this period, the showroom will be an art gallery and feature a selection of the works of Wan Mokhtar Wan Abdullah, a prominent Malaysian artist.
The exhibition, which was officially opened by Dr. Tan Kee Kwong (Deputy Minister of Land and Corporative Development), is the first of a series which the Renault importer/distributor will have in 2003. It is specially organized to promote Malaysian arts and culture. Viewing hours will be from 8:30 am – 7:00 pm during weekdays, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm on Saturdays and between 11.00 am and 4.00 pm on Sundays. Visitors can also buy the paintings on display and the prices range from RM2,000 to RM15,000.
During the exhibition period, Quasar Carriage will also be offering Renault vehicles at very special prices.
About Wan Mokhtar Wan Abdullah
Born in 1943, Wan Mokhtar is a talented artist has been painting all his life. By profession a teacher, he opted for early retirement in 1993 to pursue his lifelong passion to paint. Wan Mokhtar paints in a distinctive broad stroke style and is sometimes close to being an Impressionist. His love for nature inspires him to create beautiful paintings depicting local waterfalls, paddy fields, seashores, etc.
Currently, his paintings grace numerous private and corporate collections, including the Malaysian Consulate in Los Angeles and the Islamic Centre in Perth, Australia. Wan dreams one day of having his own art gallery and that his work will inspire people to love nature. His commitment to pursue artistic excellence and his love for the land and people shine through all his works.
