Seiji Kuraishi is New CEO/Managing Director for Honda Malaysia
Honda Malaysia introduced its new Chief Operating Officer/Managing Director, Seiji Kuraishi, during the opening of the Sumber Auto Edaran dealership in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, during the weekend.
Mr Kuraishi, who takes over from Mitsuru Ozaki who has been re-assigned to a new position which will involve Honda’s activities in China, is a graduate of Keio University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He joined Honda Motor in 1982 and was initially involved in Completely Knocked Down (CKD) activities at the Sayama Plant. In 1988, he was assigned to Honda’s factory in Ohio, USA, where he worked in the Production Control Division.
He returned to Honda headquarters in Tokyo in 1994 where he became Assistant Manager in the Asia & Oceania Automobile Division which covers Southeast and Oceania operations. In 1996, he moved to Thailand to oversee ASEAN and Thai market activities and was promoted to General Manager of Asian Honda Motor in 1998.
Prior to assuming his position in Malaysia, Mr Kuraishi was Vice-President of Honda Automobile Thailand and also Executive Coordinator of Asian Honda Motor.
