Hi!

Need advise from a recond owner or anyone that could help. This is my first time buying a recond car and the warranty given would only be one month. What should I check (or do) specifically during this period? What have you guys done? 1 month is a very short period thus, appreciate if you guys can give me useful advise.

The car (or rather MPV) that I would buy is Toyota Ipsum 240s 2004 unregistered.. mileage about 33k km

TQ

Can you believe everything is written on papers by used car dealer? If it is only verbally, that would smell trouble. You need to check with local parts suppliers whether they carry Ipsum spares also. Do check the importer document which will give a clue esp. how long this car has been in the yard. Heard from many used car dealers that their stock really can't move these days....!

But, good luck in your search for new ride!

yes.....what bro ring mentioned is correct! dont believe in what u see..... just some extra point..... the milleage..... all recond car's milleage are set to be around that figure (30k) . however, that figure 99.9% confirm being adjusted.

On top of that, try to give the previous owner a call to find out more about the car first... there are not many of such mpv on the road and parts are not that easily available. I had a fren who bought it 2 yrs ago bcoz of the 'attractive price'. He was lucky coz the previous owner was a VIP and the car was serviced and restored into a very good running condition...serve him well till now

thanks for the advise... on the parts side, I wouldn't be worry much on the engine coz it's the same with estima but for other parts, i would have to rely on ipsum.net for info.. they have been keeping list of stockist that carry ipsum parts.

and yeahh... i wouldn't believe the odometer either.. but can't do much as it's a recond car thus, can't contact the previous owner either. i did test drive the car a few round and found out the engine is smooth sailing though... the suspension work fine etc. the only 2 things that they need to look at is aircond compressor and left side mirror folding motor.

guess.. i would have to drive the car on a long journey during that 1 month warranty to find out more

unfortunately, toyota cars are highly reliable; they hardly breakdown in the first 5 years. or 100,000km.
you cant find anything to check in the first month. everything will be in place or working normally.
