On a more serious note, the 4G92/93-powered Protons are probably the company's better cars from the 1990s. They may look like a 1.3/1.5 Wira, but are technically far superior. Unfortunately, not a lot of ppl saw the point of spending a RM12k premium to get a 1.6 over the 1.5 back then.
In 2002, when EON still had its Motoria second-hand car arm, there was an export-model 1.8 SOHC manual for sale at RM51k. On hindsight, I really wished I had gotten my hands on that car. Instead, my folks spent RM48k on an Iswara 1.5A, although I must say that the Iswara ended up serving me quite well before selling it for my Waja MC3.

why ban me ? i just sharing information ...So far within Wira's range chasis or body, C99 (which is the chasis number) is so call the best...upon the distinct of Wira 1.8 LE/RS/SOHC...this chasis was still continue use by Putra and upto GTi.
Like i said, during Karamjit's Rally Time..in order for Proton to 'certified' they must build a upto par model..that's where to 1.8 DOHC (with MMC strong injection - with no speed cut, rev cut injected (compare GSR where have speed cut))....
The chances of finding a 'better' condition (not consider good yet) of C99 LE (Limited Edition) is almost impossible...moreover 'stock' one...based on the 'survey', out of 2450 units LE & 50 RS produced, 40-50% (or more) already converted to nobody business (like VR4, GSR, Evo ) because ppl believe this chasis is super titanium made which is totally wrong (well Malaysian ma..even 1.3, Kancil also the just mod like mad la)...+ on top of that maybe 10-15% already "RIP" with the driver (sadly to said)....so left about 30% which 28% still on the road and maybe (maybe only) 2% is slightly stock or less than 5 units is 'quite' stock (from rim to twin tip exhaust)....
This is just my rough estimation...Proton's metal just can't last that long...like roof, doors, bonnet...the car is already 12-14 years old now...can't expect much...
One thing impressed me still is the heart itself (the 4G93P durability)...no doubt it still produce the 'common' 4G93 issue like lash adjust sound...and the unique F5M222 5th gear will kick back ( have to replace the 5 gear set)...
Other than that, the unique-ness of the ECU is just awesome...GSR one probally can't match it...but again its not so enviroment friendly since it doesn't by pass o2 sensor...
Anyway, power is awesome, fuel consumption is good, 4 rounded disc brake with ABS, factory fitted momo steering , gear knob and Recaro seat..+ not to forget the ultimate rear spoiler ala the Tiang Gol.....
There won't be 2nd change proton can make any car that close to this....Campro just not my taste (no offence)
Enough said, just my personal opinion...
If my bro willing to let go the car to me, i really won't fine fully restore it...back to "stock" > some parts and accessories also distinct man.. !!!

Chill la... kidding only.
I agree, at this age, finding a Wira 1.8 DOHC samore, in good condition is likely to be a fruitless search. Even the SOHC models also would be quite difficult to find, because they sold in very small numbers.
