CKD - Completely Knock Down means it comes in parts and are assembled locally

CBU - Completely Build Unit means imported fully assembled

if its like that, maybe CKD should be mentioned as CKDU.

come on la. we are trying to correct sumthing here. its just like...

example : what is the cover of engine bay called? a bonnet.

what is the cover of rear boot called? a rear bonnet? malaysians are the laughing stock. and still refuse to be corrected.

there is no such thing as a rear bonnet.

sorry off topic.

It is good to know that in the auto industry, there are DKD and SKD as well.

DKD - Direct Knocked-down - this type of 'car' is normally imported in a whole and fitting the wheels and sometimes accessories locally only.

SKD - Semi Knocked-down - most of the part already assembled overseas and then imported with the remaining parts.
