How did you 'bust' your tire?
Also, if your spare has been rotated along with all your other tires
throughout the 47k life, then there should be no big deal.
But if you have left the spare out of the rotation sequence, and your
right front is bald.. then it might be a good idea to
a. bring the rears to the front, assuming that it is still OK.
b. buy another to replace.
But personally, if the tires are more than 2 years, uimmm I would replace.
Finally, there is a good list of tires choices under the Yahoo Perodua
Kembara Groups Forum. Look in the database.

I went shoping today and cann't find any Goodyear Wrangler or Bridgstones
Double in Puchong and Subang Jaya. All out of stock!
One of the shop try to sell me Goodyear AT+4 (205/70R15) as a spare tyre
and the Perodua tyre cover (2 piece) cann't fix in. I believe this tyre
is a bit wider. Then he lent me another tyre (Michellin 4x4) and it can
be in but had to push in quite hard. I just wonder, this stock tyre
Sliverstone SQ178 is a bit small???? Can other band tyres fix in?
I also find out that Goodyear Wrangler is around RM185 and Bridgestone
Double is RM230. Do Bridgestone better in comfort, less noise, and

Join the club, mine is only 15 months old already 53k km.
Also, with regards to tire size. Confirm original kembara size is
As to why some can fit and some cannot, I have no idea. Lausy accessories
a. Goodyear wrangler - Someone gave a good report in Yahoo groups. You
should ask him.
b. Bridegestone Double? Never heard of such a model.

Sorry wrong spell, it is Bridgstone Dueler Highway Terrian or Dueler
Highway Luxury. I had ordered 4 Dueler HT tyres and plan to fix this
It is very costly, RM230 per piece!
I hope it give good performance in term of comfort and noise!
I read a some article about testing all 4WD tryes using Honda CRV, the
number 1 for comfort (on road) is GY Wrangler and number one for off-road
It depend on your need. I sometime off-road for work reasons and as well
in the highway. Hence, chosing the Dueler HT!

Just curious. What do we need to pay attention to when we rotate the
spares along with the other 4 tyres?
Posted 16 February 2004 - 10:05 PM
Did I say things to pay attention? checked my post but did not asy
anything like that.
Never the less, if I were to inclue my spare in my rotation sequence, I
1. Maintain the rotation pattern as recommended in my Manufacturers Manual
2. Ensure that the balancing is done well.
3. Ensure that the presure is periodicall checked, every month or so.
4. Check overall condition every month as well.
Other than that, cant think of anything else.

Sime tyre shouldnt be that bad rite although its quite well known to be
inferior compared to other makes.
Anyway I think I need to change for a good tyre but have to settle all the
pending problems with my kembara...
btw thanks for the details boink... i think i must check with my workshop
on rotation of spare tyre...

First of all, I apologise for the confusion caused by my blunt enquiry on
the spare tyre rotating topic. I had presumed that you 'must have' done
that before, hence the question put forward.
I have a bad habit of blindly ignoring the Manufacturers Manual unless
I 'need' to refer to it.....
