Are you a mechanic yourself and have you converted to electronic
distributor for Kancil before? I suspect the air-fuel mixture of my
Kancil not ngam because my engine oil gets black very fast after 500km
just like 5000km condition.

just take out the spark plug and check the condition, it will indicate
whether timing too advanced or mixture too rich
u can also adjust the mixture ur self if u hv the tachometer, the
adjustment screw is at the back of the carburetor

Last month I replaced 3 spark plugs. I regretted I did not take picture.
The plugs looked burnt around the ceramic base and sooty black on the tip.
Guess I better have the CS retune the car.
BTW RN80 for a electronic distributor sounds reasonable. Where can I get
this changed?

ones? Any advantage? Where can I get one? Is the electronic one no
connection to the coil?
Does the new kancil come with electronic distributor?

tauke dun even want to keep it, it's old technology

I have opened up an electronic distributor before. It has a rotor that
turns with a contact point and the distributor cover has 4 contact
points. As for the "pak kam" distributor is it also like that?

That screw, i just need to tighten or loosen right ?
What happen when engine run too rich / lean ?
Rich: Too much fuel, FC goes up.
Lean: Too much air, engine misfire due to high temp.
So, can I say that slightly toward lean is good, which is to the point the
engine doesn't misfire or cause engine pinging ?

I am now driving wira 1.5 auto and travelling 40km++ everyday. My FC
roughly about RM70 to 80 for a week. Got intension to buy kancil 660 (M)
year 2000. It's a good idea? I'm concern about the FC and other maintenance

kancil already, for the contact point distributor, there is one contact
point in the middle, and of cos, a condenser beside the housing
nurain, the kancil 660 is not necessarily economical, depend on how u use
the car, summore be prepared for some slight ride discomfort compared to
your current wira

Driving Kancil is not for the weak hearted If you're downgrading from
a Wira, you will feel the Kancil is very floaty and has more suspension
crash. Although Wira 1.5 Auto has "weak" acceleration, Kancil is even
weaker. Besides, you will feel everything is very near to you, be it
object outside or inside the car. If you can live with these limitations,
you are set to see its better side.
It is very economical and fun to drive car. Condition is you have to drive
sedately and drive within its capabilities. If you drive like me, you can
get 400km for RM35/21.60liter (18.5km/l) no sweat. That is mixed 50/50
city (golden triangle area n federal h/w)n h/w driving. If drive pure
highway, same amount can pergi-balik Ipoh + ronda-ronda, but drive at 80-
90km/h la. That is more than 20km/l and from an 8years old engine. When
new I can get at least 23km/l on the same journey.
Maintenance wise, not much to remember. Just follow what is recommended by
P2/Daihatsu. Just normal lube/oil filter/contact point change. Occasional
airfilter change/carb cleaning. Just watch out for its CV joint and drive
shaft. Mesti jaga sama itu cv joint/drive shaft rubber boots coz once
torn, hmmph. Don't think that its a small car, its spare parts will be
cheap automatically; they are not cheap.
Regards.
