Artemus,
Firstly, what is your ride? I guess it is the Forte, right?
1) For Floor-pan, we use Wurth / InsuMat combo. For firewall...we use GSI ( similar to Dynamat but a lot lighter).
We wil however look at the floor & firewall last as the human ear is very naughty instrument. It will pick up other noises when certain areas are quieter. So put the money on more crucial areas First.
As AutoFoam Track packages already address vibrations from the Under-carriage and floor pan, i rec. you do the doors, wheel arches, booth, under rear seat panel, top parcel shelf etc first for better bang for buck results.
Then only do the floor pan, you will be amazed at the improvements then.
2) If engine noise is bothering you, Hood liners are great for "eye-level" noise. Again before you do this, try to address the Outer wheel well / mudguard. A lot of noise from road, tire and engine seeps in from here. Our Roar Killer package is proven to be the Most effective solution here.
3) The Free Wurth /Insumat is applied in the spare tire well/booth as a lot of low frequency resonance is generated here.
4) Depending on car and SP material, Double layer is always better. But beware, if you are in to ICE, too much SP can screw up Sound Quality.
5) Depending on cars, AutoFoam Track is around Rm 3K.
6) Going to Penang...Manpower, bro. My biggest headache. It takes abt 6 hrs to AF /SP a car with 2 skilled workers. KL is just 3 hrs away and somemore got Milo-Ping, Char-Siew Fan.
But we will keep things open. I miss my Har-Mee, Char Koay Teow, etc.
cck38, will PM you.
Cheers,
Desmond
