My experience with "Maintenance Free Car Batteries" I donot know about
other brands, is Not That Good cos all the three(3) brands (Not to
mention the names, anyway I forgot the names)1st and 2nd pc, fails me
after 1 year + and the 3rd pc fails me 11 months so when I checked with
the supplier(dealer) they told me it's better to use the One which needs
to be maintained. So I am back with the maintencance type. Hope this will
serve me better, ha ha ha......This is only my(one person) experience,
better get more info and comments B4 U make ur choice. Just sharing
Only...

I was a non MF battery user before. Most of my batteries lasted around one
and a half to two years only. Some will start to leak acid before going dead.
Some I had problem even with the positive terminal breaking off. Some more
was using local branded batteries.
Am now using MF battery (one made in Indonesia and the other from
philippines). One already one and a half years and still going strong, the
other just pass one year and also going strong. Shoulded be any problem.
Maybe just your luck that the battery you bought is not so good...

the MF battery on my S40 2.4i since Nov-04 until today is working like a
charm. Recent check by SC during my 2nd yearly maintenance in Nov-06
indicate the voltage/??? are within Volvo specs. So they told me they no
need to change for now.
So i guess it must have something to do with the brand that you use. I
asked them about the brand and was told it came from Thailand.
Hope that helps
