146 1.7 boxer!!!

since dis thread talks abt d 146,i wanna join in n ask a few Q.purely
frenly Qs n dun intend 2 flame ok?i drive a Honda.Greetings.

how many models r der for d 146?all 1.7cc or got more?
recently met w a frenly chap who claims he own a supercharged 146...cost
him 30K,installed in S'pore....din mention in RM or SGD....
he sed his car can go 265km/h.....i wanna know how true is dis....
just curious n yes,its not farnee 2 travel @ such speed..madness.....

again,i stress,i dun intend 2 flame here ok?just wanna know if i was
taken 4 a ride or not.....

Have never seen a supercharged 146 here before. There is a 147 with
Novitec supercharger. There are turbocharged 146s and 147s also, either
with Novitec or Autodelta turbo kits and one 146 1.7 boxer with locally
made turbo.

146 have about 5 models sold here, 1.6 boxer 8v & 1.7 boxer 16v, 1.6 T-
spark 16v, 1.8 T-spark 16v, and 2.0 T-spark 16v.

265km/h is possible if he did some RnD on his gearing ratio. remember,
your top speed limit primarily depend on your gear ratio and secondly by
your engine power.
The questions is how fast he can hit 265km/h is the true measurement for
your friend to go and advertise and hu... ha... his soup up supercharge
Boxer. For example

1) Ferrari F50 might take say 15sec to hit 265
2) 156 GTA may take 30 sec
3) Your honda maybe ??...
3) Soup up Boxer (your friend) may take 1 hrs to hit 265 mark
4) Mine may take 2 days
4) WGT145 prolly will take forever to hit 265km/h

so frm above example then only we can hu ha say Ferrari F50 engine very
powerfull and hu ha that mine and WGT145 need some magic touch. Anyway
mine one faster than WGT...

me also wan the super duper sensor.
zjaafar, tell lah mana dapat or is it from the F50 wan ah??

I bought it frm WGT145 maybe the one used on his Pelalli before. Bought
2nd hand cheap2.

lamda sensor.
so that is the brand and where to get?
we can't be turning on for nothing right?

I also agreed with u, my experienced i was saw 146 makan Satria Gti in
kesas hihway just like kacang.

Before you lot go goo-goo-ga-ga over this lamda ajaib, have a look at
your current lamda first.

Here's how you can check the 'virility' of your magic stick (the lamda
sensor I mean). How people like me, or zjaafar, do our own underground
lab experiments

1) Take out the lamda. I assume you'd know how to have access to it and
how to take it out. Just make sure you do it when the engine is cold,
unless you like to see your knuckles in skin-white colour.

2) Lay the sensor tip of the lamda on a flaming hot torch. If you are
not a member of the infamous Oxy Gang who go around torching and breaking
ATM machines, dont worry. The flame from your kitchen stove would do.

3) Once you've heated the sensor long enough, now use a multimeter to
read the voltage reading. It should normally read between 0.3v to 0.7v
and should be jumping around. Not a good sign if the needle stays at one
particular reading for too long.

There you go. For all you know, you lamda sensor is still working well.
Lamda sensors usually have quite a long lifespan. Can't remember how
long, but if i'm not mistaken, around 80K if not 120K.

And oh, on the topic of gearbox and gearing ratio, just ask zjaafar. He
just finished rebuilding my gearbox last couple of month (at a token
price you wont believe), changed few bearings here and there, modified a
little bit here and there, sprinkled some magic potion here and there and
wow... that goddamn box is now tighter than Lindsay Lohan's sphincter.

Where typical workshops will say "ini gearbox tarak boleh repair
punya..", "kasik tukar half-cut lah ini gearbox..", "ini boxer gearbox
memang susah mahu rebuild punya...", try sending it to zjaafar. Not a
mechanic with a workshop, but just another alfa enthusiast with very
sound mechanical knowledge and logic thinking.

I kid you not.

And for the record, my breadvan takes about 25 hours 47 minutes and 56
seconds to reach 265km/h.

thks for the lenghty DIY, but wouldn't it be easier if just start the
car, warm up for 10 minutes, cabut the connector & measure the voltage.
Sure beats going under the car, scrap your knuckles, exert your muscles
trying to cabut the magic batang & strip the nut then go kitchen to fry
it & lastly to repeat the whole process it reverse to know whether the
batang still working or not....

garage, which was why I used that 'flaming' method.
