Dear friends,

With your permission Mr. Prez, may I start a thread on how we can improve
our beloved "Le Club Citroen" and its TT sessions.

Although I`m new to the club, my sincere impression is that the club needs
a `jab` in the bottom to rejuvenate it. If you see the membership to the
club, its well over 3000, yet the attendance to TT session rarely exceed
20 persons. Is it dying? It is inevitable that we will one day dispose of
our ageing citroens to move on into other makes. Thus it is important that
new blood is `infused` to stem the loss. I`m not talking about leadership
of the club ; just ordinary members. Nigel is the best person for the hot
seat and he has done outstandingly well.

If this is not done, I fear that our club will soon be nothing more than a
virtual entity of the net and nothing more.

I feel that the club needs to be more `attractive` to newbies like me.
However to improve one needs to know or be aware of one`s weakness or
disabilities.
It`s a bitter pill to swallow, but then again most medicines are.

Dear friends, let us stand tall, shoulder to shoulder with our Prez. to
defend and build this great club of ours to what is desrves to be.

I`ll start with my suggestions and hope others will contribute too.

1) Timing: Maybe Wednesday evenings amy not be the best time. It`s
difficult for some of us to be free. Probably Saturday afternoons would be
a better bet.

2) Location: It would be more interesting if we could meet up in an area
big enough to not only share ideas about our cars but actually work on it
or at least `display` our cars. Preferably somewhere accessible to not
only Klang Valley, KL residents.

3) New members must be made to feel welcomed. The club needs to be more
open to all kinds of groups...wives, gf, children and such. It should not
be an exclusive club for a select few.

4)Why don`t make the club official?

That`s all that I can think of for now.

I hope this thread will get more than a lukewarm responce.
Come on guys! Lets rally behind this noble cause!

We`ll see...the health (if not the survival of it)of our club rests on you.
I do not expect defeat...nor will I accept it.
Responce to this thread will be the barometer to the state of the club.
Deep down however, I`m afraid, it may be doomed...

Regards,
spygame

In every successful club that I have come across, one thing stands out:
commitment.

there has to be at least 1 member who is willing to go out of the way to
make sure that everything is in order. This may sound like a tall order
but necessary.

here in penang, I can't find a gathering for cits. so, what I do is to
join the local pug club. they are nice enough.

What I am suggesting is that perhaps there can be a meetings in your area.
perhaps there can be a gathering in cheras, another in puchong... wherever
lah.

or worse come to worse, join pug or something like that lah, become some
adopted child of the club lah... Smile

that's wot I feel when I join pug nothern TT, so weird, every car is a pug
aka lion then... mine a cit!! that's wot I call standing out in the crowd!!

i think punctuality is very important here. I rushing out from work at 7pm
from Sg Buloh to get to Sri Hartamas being my first ever TT session with
the members. Normally i go off work around 9-10pm.

Reached Sri Hartamas at 7.30pm ... rounding around to find the place.
Called Nigel at 7.55pm. He mentioned that he'll be here a bit later as
there's something to attend to. So being my first time ... i tried to find
the place with all the landmarks as what Nigel has directed. Found the
place at 8pm ................... BUT ......... nobody's there .. was there
right until 8.30 - 8.45pm ........ can't find any citroens around. And i
only have Nigel and Nik's number. Called Nik but he can't make it. Ended
up ... i sms Nigel .. telling him that i'm going off oredi ....... as
nobody's there yet ....

Another T/T session i have missed .................. anyway ...... those
who came after that ... i'm sure you enjoyed yourselves. I'm really
looking forward to the next TT. Was so so so CLOSE but yet ......... sigh.
Perhaps punctuality is very vital ... at least for me ... who haven't been
to any TT before.

have a nice day guys ..............

I must take my hat off for Nigel ...being a great responsible President.
Thanks for everything man. Appreciate it lots. What's up that nite when i
called up to ask about the attendance at TT ? You sounded damn serious and
damn stressed up ...............
