I was also wondering about road tax and find it OK-lah after the
calculation. I spend around RM250+ per month and if I can save RM100 per
month, then I would have save RM1200 per year which mean I am paying
about RM500+ for a 2.5L car on road tax. If I travel more, then it will
be better-lah.

I was just looking at Kia web site again and now I notice that they have
stated that the downpayment is negotiable, which means ada discount-lah.
check it out at http://www.asiapacif...sorentotop.html
this is the actual page. If you surf from the home page kia.com.my,
you'll end up here as well.

sorry mykereta, miss your post. The dealer that offers me 9K discount is
an authorised dealer and it is suppose to be the 2004 model. Coz' I
specifically asked him...then again he might tipu me-lah.

3% interest can be up to 7 years...then again he might tipu me-lah.

I saw this in the Alpha Angle exhibition (main enterence) and I think
they are still there.

If you are going - tekan the SA and see what you get? He start with 6K
and as we talk, he goes up to 9K, I try 10K but he stop at 9K. Let me
know what you get?

st1180,

Just got the quotation from my salesman:

OTR = 170,898
D/P = 10%
Loan = 90%
Interest Rate : 3.3%
Discounts : RM 5K to RM 7K

Monthly: 5 years = RM 3000
7 years = RM 2273.13
9 years = RM 1,866.25

Too expensive lar for me...over budget. Kenot buy this year maybe next
year....

hi norsk, you di KL ka? As it is, the SA I'm dealing with is giving
RM11K. I am arranging for a test drive this weekend and see lah, boleh
tekan lagi for 2 cars. I was told dia ada black and silver only-lah. Then
again still need to sell my Ford Focus dulu.

As for deisel, if I buy this - then it would be my first. No idea how
well it perform. Reveiw that I read seems OK.

Wonder if mykereta is interested to book together. If you are reading
this please response.

Hi st1180

Sorry to disappoint you. I already made the booking for the sorento a few
days after I test drove the car. I made the booking with this SA after
checking around with three or four other SAs on the discount they can
give. All of them quoted me 6 to 7k. I guess that's the standard
discount . You must be lucky to get the SA to give you a 11k discount.
Either he's desperate to sell the car or there is a hidden cost somewhere.
My word to you is to be extra careful when dealing with something that
looks to good to be true.
As for me, this is also the first time I'm having a diesel car. I
currently own a Naza Ria which I intend to keep. It is a very comfortable
car but a same time it is a gas guzzler when driving for short distances.
Not the type you should use to drive to the office, especially in KL with
its constant traffic jams. Long distance OKla.

hi Mykereta, do let me know how the car actual perform when you get it.
Would be helpful to know how the car really is when you are using it
daily.

Good luck
