Look guys, let's not put down these wannabees because they mod their cars.
You have to consider the economic situation. If we were to work just as
hard in a developed country, most people would be driving their dream Type-
R or M3's. And they won't has as much to prove on the road as they do
here. So here...the bengs mod their cars because there's no way they can
save up that amount of cash until they retire. What to do? Just bolt on a
turbo into the 4G91 lorrr...and pretend you're Tommi. Remember...everyone
has their dreams and I think it's sadder to let your dreams go unreached.

And we thought the G would be nice and let AFTA make life sweeter for us...

partly true prozac51. However even in err... developed countries where car prices
are "fair" (not inflated by the G) there's still alot of Ah-Bengs around with their
slammed Civics or whatever crap box. It's not so much of money, but the
attitude.
Riciness occurs everywhere.

Agree with boxer4, riced-up cars has something to do with attitude.
Again, there is a thin line between being "rice" or "not rice".

very hard to say with the car being a modded car. you dont know what they
got underneath or maybe they got more guts or just flooring the throttle
all the way.

you'll never know the potential of a car until you push it hard. and if you
own a sports car, no need to get dangerous with these modded kancils.

Has it occur to you that they just like to drive fast ? Okay it's wrong
to do that at the expense of others but do you know how much it cost to
get a half day season at Sepang ? No NGO sponsors these fellas and the G
doesn't even bat an eye at them. Why not open Sepang/Batu 3 free ? Then
I'm sure many will take it to the track instead of the road. BUT we are
only talking about mid-M'sia. What about the north, east, south ? Any
tracks for those who wants to participate leaglly ?

My 2 cents worth.

I would normally ignore these wannabe racers as these people want to test
power with cars that are superior to theirs. It's mainly a bit waste of
expensive petrol and childish to give in to their challenges.

I had a terrible experience recently.

My Subaru was tailgated by 2 cars (Both "riced-up" - one was a Camry and
the other was an EG Civic). They saw my car from afar and raced and
started to tailgate me, I moved to the slow lane (and started cruising at
about 80km/h to 90km/h)and they also followed and continued tailgating.
Both cars were heavily tinted and the Camry had something like tons of
chrome all over the car. The Civic was the typical riced-up Ah Beng.
Rims, loud exhaust, stickers and dark tinting.

The Camry tailgated me for over 2 kms and then gave way to the Civic. I
ignored both of them. The Civic then started aceelerating until almost
touching my rear bumper and then backing off for about 30 times then he
started swerving violently to challenge me.

At this point, I knew that it was only a matter of time before he got
into SERIOUS trouble....true enough....all that swerving made his Civic
so unstable that he skidded into the next lane and almost rammed into
another car. Luckily the other driver was alert ennough to swerve
violently into the next lane which thankfully was empty.

Both cars then gave up and raced each other in the emergency lane.

It's too bad that these moron didn't take each other out, perhaps by this
time they would have.

One can only hope.

Guys, dangerous racing aside, talk about midnight racing, no cars, just
you me and the street...
the supercar is always at the losing end, if he wins, it's because he's
supercar, if he lose, then malu.
so, there'll be always people who say no point racing, to protect their
dignity, which I agree also that supercar should not do street race (cause
1 day I will drive one of these :P)
Supercar was engineered to go high speed, not drive around NKVE or MRR2
under speed limit.

Does anyone of you here have manufacturers' specifications for Toyota
Supra, Nissan Skyline, Honda NSX and other Japanese Sports cars?

I just wish to compare their respective performences... do you know which
make has the highest top speed and acceleration.

Btw, how to diffentiate among 'supercar', 'musclecar' & 'sportcar'?

When you take sport car for every day-in & day-out, will you bore with it?

Thanks.Cool

I tend to agree that some of these Ah Bengs are a dangerous lot! Whenever
I drive my Proton or Getz, I have no worries with these EK and SV4 racers-
wannabes. But on occassions when I'm in my Fiat Coupe, they like to
tailgate u really closely or come side-by-side and give u the Race sign.
If you don't pull away, the Ah Bengs annoy u. If you do accelerate, they
take it that u wanna race and do all types of stupid things.

If they like speed, why don't they just save their monies (instead of
modding like crazy) and go get a proper sportscar? The way I look at it,
an EK is an EK, a SV4 is a SV4- no matter how u mod these, u can't turn
them into real sportscar. I stand corrected, proper and safe sportscars.
