Hello all,

I am contemplating buying a Subaru Impreza (around MY93). Can anyone pls advise what I should look out for when viewing used Imprezas? What would be a fair price for a WRX turbo?

Any Imp owners care to share their experience owning a Subaru?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

NASIOC is really messed up. Too many ppl. Used to be very closely knitted
and was once known as i-club.com
Besides, those dam yanks have different setup for their Imprezas than the
rest of the world.

Depends on how you look at it. These damn yanks happens to own a huge
chunk of Fuji Heavy Industries aka Subaru.

As for i-club. It`s still around. NASIOC and I-Club got into a fight. I-
Club does not cater for non-imprezas, NASIOC does.

20% = huge chunk? Wink
well either case, I do find lately Nasioc and i-club has turned into
another clubsi type of deal. That's to be expected as Subaru gains
popularity amongst the public in North America. Used to be a small tight
group where "everbody knows your name..."

20% <> huge chunk? Shock
It is enough for GM to hand the Impreza drivetrain to Saab. I sincerely
hope that this technology "transfer" does not go the wrong way. The only
thing I like about Saab is the headrest. Dead

well 20% is at least not as bad as say >50% of Nissan that belongs to
Renault. Or VW outrightly owning Audi and Lamborghini. Or GM and
Suzuki/Daewoo/Saab or Ford with Mazda/Jaguar and volvo. Anyways Subaru
needed the extra cash injection from GM. It was that 20% share which
equates to a few billion $ that helped Subaru to R&D and market it's WRXs
and now STi to North American shore. North American car market represents
1/3 of total car market. BTW, GM's emissions control technology is top
notch in the world.
Besides, Subaru has been known to be the Japanese equivalent of Saab as
they build quirky cars. Saab's are getting better these days with their
new offerings of 9-3s and 9-5s sports sedans. Still FWD though.

There you go, if American car market represents 33% of the total car
market, then it's the world that's different from the yanks. Not the other
way around. Cool

.... and hey, watch what you're saying about Subaru. Saab and Volvo is
quirky, Subaru is "unique". GM in general is "Koyak"

Quirky...unique. you say to-mah-to... I say toh-meh-to. Evil GM gobbled
up so many auto mfgs, that I dunno what I drive anymore. So what if one
drives a benz. FOr all we know it's a Chrysler Sebring underneath. LOL!
Audi TT... whatever. It's just a flattened out VW Beetle.
