Hello,

Lately my Perodua kembara Gearbox has been leaking transmission fluid. Its an automatic Gearbox. In the beginning, I was experiencing sluggish transmission. It took 4-5s for the Gear to change from P to D. I took it for maintenance and it was fine.

After repairing it, now it's leaking, I took it back to the same foreman. He told me that the gearbox is leaking. He told me it cant be fix and I had to change 1 which would cost around RM2.5k. According to him, the Housing of the Gearbox is leaking.

Can anyone advice me? Can it be fixed rather than changing a new Gearbox?

Thanks.

Get a second opinion from another foreman. If gear box housing damaged then you will need a new gear box but why did it break after gear box repairs?

Hello..

After the repair.. Every thing was fine, the car moved smoothly.. Then about a week later.. The oil spot started to appear again.. So I took it back to the same foreman.. He then told me the housing is leaking and need to change a new 1..

Will those sealer conditioner work if I try those?

Thanks..

If gasket leak, probably that can help, but your mechanic say housing, means the gear box itself. That is why I mention try getting 2nd opinion see where it is actually leaking.....

Usually the gear box will be intact unless something hit it. If gasket leak, can just change, that is why need to know actually where it is leaking from. Let us know your results from 2nd opinion or after it has been repaired....
