Such a sad tragegy - and I wonder what the 4WD is doing driving on the
emergency lane. This is a very bad driving attitude on Malaysian roads, a
lot of users like to cut queue by going on the emergency lane.

I hope the 29 year old driver of the 4WD will be punished severely and be
made an example. Otherwise people will never learn and this will continue
to happen.

That`s assuming that the car that stopped on the emergency lane had their
hazards light on and the 4WD driver had no good reason to be driving on
the emergency lane...

Went to Kl yesterday and saw a 4WD parked in the fast lane (!) of the
NShighway.

The guy was replacing his blown tyre there. He did put a triangle sign but
it was small and only a few meters away from his 4WD.

Crazy attitude....if that kinda situation he kena bang and died than serve
him right.

Sad to say the hazard lights usually are not used when they should be.
But are used when they should not be, like during a rainy day or driving
through a tunnel.

Dar,

I think azbro is talking about what he saw, not referring to the tragedy.

In any case, an emergency lane is NOT for people to drive. It is for
people with emergency, like changing a flat tyre. If there is a traffic
jam, then just stay in the lane and wait like everyone else, not take a
short cut by driving on the emergency lane.

It starts with these little things - and then people will start doing
more daring stuffs and slowly these become an acceptable norm. I just
hope that authorities will take stern action against these people. Take
away their licenses for 2 weeks if they are caught driving on the
emergency lane - that should teach them...

Thx chipp76,

I was not referring to the family that died.

It so happen I was travelling to KL and saw this broken down 4WD on the
fast lane... that bagger was replacing his blown tire there and had a
small triangle just few meter away.
