Hi all

Would you know of any advantages Biante has over the Serena S-Hybrid? Am deciding on either one

Price
No significant difference. Nissan is offering RM8000 rebate now to clear 2013 stock but with the optional accessories maxed out, it is similar to that of Biante

Drivetrain
Engine: Both are almost equivalent, 2000 CC, direct injection, variable intake at intake and exhaust.
Transmission: Haven't test driven Biante skyactive 6 speeder. As for Serena, the X-tronic CVT works brilliantly

Safety
Both have 2 airbags, stability assist, ABS, EBD

Tech gizmo
Mazda doesn't have hill-start assist unlike serena
Serena uses reflector halogen but Biante sports projector halogen

Interior space (height)
serena wins outright due to its flat floor (torsion beam) while biante has an elevated platform for 2nd and 3rd row (multilink rear). Hence, ingress and egress are easier in serena than biante.

Interior space (width)
Biante wins marginally as its 2nd and 3rd row seats are slightly wider than serena. Serena's middle 2nd row seat is uncomfortable for long distance travel

Leg room
Serena wins outright as 2nd and 3rd row leg room is roomier than those of Biante

Ride and handling
Can't comment about Biante as i haven't test driven yet. As for serena s-hybrid, the ride is so so but still acceptable because it jumps on ruts.

Am veering towards Biante due to its good looks, but guys, do you happen to know of more pros for Biante?

william, does the bandar puteri mazda branch have a Biante test drive unit? If so, is it available this weekend 22 / 23 Feb?

thanks

Those who got their Biante, mostly booking made in Oct or Nov 2013, currently the waiting period is about 2 to 3 months, subject to color availability.

This is so typical of sales guys. Most of the them say pay booking now and can get car in 2-3 weeks time. Sounds reasonable right. 2-3 months is a joke and it's sad that Mazda can't even get their sales guys to tell the truth..

Two to three weeks? Unless the model with ready units and it is unlikely for CBU models, eg. Mazda Biante; there are many types of sales person in automotive industry and other industries as well, so it is advisable to check with few outlets before jumping to conclusion.

Actuall I went to three outlets and all say end of March or early April. You would think its true since all say the same thing, but then something tells me it's all bulshit. Anyway, wife likes the car so I made a booking after all, but have to say they could learn to be more professional about it. Basically most car buyers can handle the truth but when you exaggerate the delivery time, then it's really not acceptable and only makes you angry.

Took delivery of my Biante 2 weeks ago. So far very happy except for the parking or side sensors which is really annoying. I am not even sure if there are side sensors, but there is a beep every time a motorist passes by and sometime it just keeps beeping non stop until the ignition key is turned off. Definitely something wrong with the sensitivity, but other than that, a nice MPV to drive.
