Pls be careful. Some of those ionizers are actually miniature ozone generators...thats why theres a faint smell emitted by that thingy. If its a powerful unit, the smell is similar to "hot metal". Horrible for your respiratory system. I'll never use such things. The importer will be laughing his way to the bank, short burst of excitement and it'll dwindle to nothingness. The 1st gen range of Medkxxxx was a great example (when Honda Civic FD was launched). The only unit i trust for all my cars is Sharp's Plasma cluster. I hv 3 units in all my cars now. Totally harmless and effective (by oxidizing any bacterial particles).

The sharp units got smell? or ionizers should have not smell at all?

Sharp Plasmacluster units emit no smell at all. I hv 3 units for cars, and 3 more big ones for my home.
Very safe and effective....even against durian odour. In a Vellfire with durian odour, i placed a home unit inside for 30mins, closed all doors, and the stench was permanently gone.

There are imitation units (for car use), so pls beware. I bought mine from Autobacs as those are the 100% original ones imported by them from Japan.

Correct. Thats the one. The Msian market is flooded by imitation units made in China. Internals look different.
So, i decided to purchase the authentic JDM one. Autobacs is extremely rigorous on their suppliers and i trust such a company.
Same thing goes for Philips DRL...i buy it from Autobacs.

Any reports on the working of the ionizers. Read one post from another forum...
It's helpful to remove cigarette's smell but other than that, the part that claims on killing virus, germs etc., not sure cos can't see lei....

As for DRL, Philips ones I think really overpriced.... smile_shock.gif

Only the ozone is a scientifically proven method to kill bacteria and virus. In fact some hospitals use ozone to sterilize rooms because ozone can clean curtains and other surfaces not typically wiped down.

Some professionals have used ozone for years to rid of bad smells such as from bad air, mold, animal and human decomposition smells from rooms.

Ozone is effective but it must be used with care. We shouldn't be in the room if we use the ozone.
