I thought I got a VW that free of problem since it has been ok for 2 years+.
Then 2 days ago my Passat CC suddenly stop while moving without any sign.

This is so dangerous on the road where you totally lose all controls suddenly.
My car couldn't start again so got towed to service center.

Then my car is fixed due to fuel pump control unit having problem.
It is under warranty, but I really shock where VW will let a fairly new car have this kinda problem.

For all the stringent automotive quality requirements, this catastrophic failure still can happen...
If VW is reading this, You could have kill or injure the road users for this failure.

thats why they provide warranty and not guarantee.
its not just vw or bmw or even proton.all can have this sort of problem.
its quite nervy when u loss power while cruising at letsay 90kmh.imagine no power steering and the brakes require lots more force to work.i know it 1st hand when i encounter speed sensor problem, engine shut off while cruising.

If this thing happens in US, I wonder what will be next? Like Toyota case?
Any idea what can we do to make a formal complain?
Imagine if this problem caused accident on public road, the people is innocent but the problematic people's car...

VW is still selling well in Malaysia despite of this problem. I wonder if this happen to Proton's new cars such as Preve and Suprima S, what will happen then?

Hi Mikhai,

Did the SC change the whole fuel tank together with the fuel pump?

Did you notice any whistling sound or some sort of motor moving sound coming from the driver rear seat prior to the failure?

To have a recall, the problem must be massive and happening in most of the cars sold. If only a few cases if can happen to any make of cars.

then the proton owners become one with the chassis, door, windscreen, tyres etc or become part of the car mass

talk abt being 'one with yr ride'.

anyway i hav met with a survivor from a preve crash in Jempol.car is deemed total loss with 75% damage rate.dunno how they calculate it.driver does no even brake a single bone.

i know accident is a case to case scenario but in this case the car saves its driver.one important thing to note is the driver admit wearing the seatbelt at that moment saves his life.next ride the driver looking for?the fd2r....

i guess manufactures have a certain threshold amount before they issue a recall.if not they treat it as a one off and do improvement i the next batch of production.
