Hi guys, im new here. I'm having a 2001 model of proton wira. It's a great car, not giving me many problem so far except recently i notice there are some weird noise coming out near my steering whenever i drive above 60kmh, it doesn't come often, but when the noise does come, it's like won't stop all the way while i'm driving and i find it irritating, the faster u go, the louder the vibration noise. I went to check with a mechanic but it's hard because the noise doesn't come often, so they can't confirm about it. Anyone of Sifu here encountered the same problem ??

It's like something vibrate near my steering, but i don't think it's from the steering, it's just nearby that area. Some of my friend said it could be the meter cable problem, but they also say the sound should be like " tak tak tak tak tak" while driving. But that's not the case, the sound came out is not " tak tak tak " . It's more like " trrrrr trrrr trrrr ", the faster u driver , the louder it is. It's irritating but it's hard to detect because it don't come often sad.gif

Could it be from the steering tilt tightener?

The level beneath the steering for you to adjust the height of the steering. Try to retighten it, may be at different height.

I have tighten it, but the sound is still remained. The meter work just fine, not "jumping". The noise is just irritating sad.gif Someone else faced this problem ?
