it's been a while since i last posted (or visited) this forum, so it's good to be back! i am getting a new car, either white or silver, and detailing it will be a b*tch, since it's an SUV...i do have quite a few waxes, sealants, polishes etc leftover, but I would like to know whether it makes more sense to coat the car rather than waxing every month or so...has anyone heard of DuPont coating? I saw a shop offering it from RM1K onwards..any good?

Do the coating, and use an LSP wax on top of that is the best. Just because you have a coating doesn't mean you can be lazy (even though its marketed that way, which I think is personally wrong at best you can be slightly lazy only), its more like more insurance from wear and tear as you have more sacrificial layers before you get to the CC. \
Since its a white or silver get either OC 2.0 or a high quality glass/quartz coat.
Cheapest option is to get OC2.0 and DIY.

Yup, agree especially if the white is without clear coat then a coating will definitely help....

I suggest you get silver colour instead white + DIY it with Opti 2.0

What about DGs nano coating which is more economical. However, I dont read much about it here though.
Am also considering trying out coatings once my present lsp is finished. DG, Opticoat or Cquartz?

yeah I had my FIL and BIL did OC2.0 on their white cars and it looks great! Doesn't have the slippery-buttery after-wax feel though
What about the DuPont coat though? Anyone heard or even try that one before?
