Just had to replace another driver side motor mount. You can see from the stains on the metal parts (from the internal oil leaking out). That's when you know you've got a broken motor mount.

Costed me 580 including labour to change.

OMG. that's a pretty hefty pricetag!

just a review on the Thai Musashi (Compact) rear brake pads i mentioned earlier. been using them for a month. they're ceramic pads as the dust on rims are virtually colourless. they dont scratch the disc and the braking performance is as good as OEM. it's superb value for money IMO (1/3 of what SC charges). i would not hestitate to recommend it.

Most of the time, SC prices are way higher. Can get better and cheaper after market pads outside..... :D

Hi all,

I am considering to buy a used Mazda 5 (2010) at about 60k to 70k, but worried about the maintenance and spare part of the car, any advice from any shi fu here? any part that i should take note when i view the car?

good news is i read some 5 years M5 still running soundly, i hope i won't get a sun-standard used M5.

thanks in advance.

best if you can test drive.

take note of any steering wheel vibrations, when during stop and go, this would indicate engine/transmission mountings needs to be changed.

also any suspension knocking/squeaking noises, i've had mined replace due to faulty shock absorbers

these have been my 2 major annoyances.

just purchased top and bottom engine mounts for my M5. cost me almost RM500 for both including GST. will replace them during next service and update here..

other than the mountings, there's not much problem to report. car runs well and FC is good.

upgraded to better brake pads for the front and the braking power has improved so much! best of all the pads doesnt scratch the disc at all and alot less dust than OEM pads! only downside is price...

recently added silicon rear bumper guard. it fits just like OEM! happy that it covers the peeling paint that has been happening for the last few months.

2 mounts for RM500 total? That's good. Could you PM me where did you get them?
