I think it does.

in fact this AES thing is really poorly implemented.

they say that AES is suppose to lower accident rates.

my questions to them, which mode of transportation has the most accidents?
which mode of transportation has the most deaths?
which mode of transportation has the most serious injuries?

the answer is the same for all 3 questions is Motorcycles. in fact motorcyclist contributes to 80% of all accidents on the road.

installing 70% speed cameras. none that will and can capture motorcyclist.
of these 70% of speed cameras, 70% of which are speeds below 90km/h. in modern times, these speeds cause jams and maybe even accidents.

i totally agree that we need to stop idiots from breaking the red light rules, using emergency lanes, overtaking when theres double lines, and speeding excessively. but shouldnt we revise the speed limits (where applicable)? shouldnt we focus more on motorcyclists? shouldnt we have tri-yearly road worthy checks for ALL vehicles (some vehicles has no lights, no brake lights, no tyre groove, and etc?

Theoretically and on M'sia law books/paper, that is everyone hope for.

But in reality:
1) Enforcement is weak. So what if capture all pics or whatever rules ? If people still continue to break the law and not pay. No one is going to capture and throw them into jail, or confiscate their vehicle or cane them.

2) Motorcyclist picture can be taken by AES. But government won't target them because:
(i) <insert race> , election coming, etc.
(ii) low income group, same as #1 above, but worse, no money to pay. How ?

3) Inspection - good to have, but will open up to corruption again to "pass" a vehicle.

4) Many old cars/lorries/buses on the road. Many will cry foul due to no money replace with newer vehicles.

5) Malaysians are too pampered. Too subsidised by the govt.

That is only the reason given why they want to implement......but what is the real motif? smile_wink.gif

fully agreed on this.

our government love to implement things. no smoking zone, no parking on roads, camera.

when it comes to enforcement. nothing. plans with no sustainability.

everyday, i see motorcyclist shooting traffic lights. everyday, i see idiots using emergency / bus lanes.

everyday i see people jumping queue. where are the police??

busy, convoying the Datuks. that is
