Looks better and more stylish, a bit more muscular and rugged than the current one. Hopefully the tranny is better now.

Kryon fuel consumption is similar to Rexton. This is due to the 2.5 ton vehicle weight. But for long distance full tank can achieve 800+km.

Think it looks the same probably only photographic tricks. There is a revised tranny and it is surely going to be better than the 2011 models. Even the recent software update improve the old tranny. Unfortunately I think the final gearing is too low and thus the high FC. With the power and torque, the gearing can be much higher like the 520d and therefor better FC.

Woot got my Actyon! It's the AWD model.
Yes even the rear passenger seat (driver side) window didn't work the first time I tried it but it works now. Hmmm...

Where do you guys go for the first 1k service? Or skip it?
Should I stick to the main branch or the one in subang?
Thank you thank you.

Rear power window very tight so can't move. After USJ SC spray some lubricant, mine now ok.

I prefer USJ SC SA faster service. But engine oil use by both main and USJ may not meet spec. How is your gear change? And the FC? Any regrets so far? My main complain now is the FC being too high.

I am coming from driving a Kembara for 10 years so basically my expectation isn't much. I can only compare to what I have driven and so far.

PROS
Definitely addictive torque. A bit lag but when it kicks in it's great.
Going up steep flyovers does not require much effort as compared to my old ride. In fact I have to hit the breaks.
Surprisingly it's not as big as I thought it would be. Driving around town is a breeze... while once you are in the highway it's practically too easy to unknowingly hit illegal speed limits.
Woot... the auto dimming is something I never thought would be a good thing but it is.
Heated front seats? Oh er... haven't tried that yet. Might try it if I go to Genting or Cameron.

CONS
Yeah the FC is bad. It's showing 12.4 l/100km but i guess it will change by time.
The Kembara was averaging 7.3 l / 100km but it's a small suv with a 1.3 L engine so it's not a good comparison.
Cornering is amazingly better in Kembara. The Actyon feels heavy and tends to roll. Granted, the Kembara is a FULL AWD while this is not. Or maybe I am just not used to it yet... gimme a few more weeks or so. My housing area has a bundle of roundabouts of different sizes.
I can't see the turning indicators on my dashboard. It's positioning I guess. Nothing serious.
The engine sound. I know I know... I have been told and I am living with it now. But once you hit the highway it's not too noticeable.
The petrol attendant comes by and warns me that it's diesel I am holding and I got the wrong pump. biggrin.gif
Awww.. I overlooked the missing Bluetooth features.

As for the gear change? Err so far no comment on that. Seems to work as expected. Not the smoothest though. My Kembara was manual so I am comparing with the latest gen Honda Civic 1.8 gear shift.

CONCLUSION
I bought this suv because of the design and frequent highway travels. It's not the best suv around and it's also neither the most expensive ones nor the cheapest. This one lacks features like Bluetooth, reverse camera, GPS... but I just need an AWD suv with enough engine power to give it a fun drive. Wasn't a supporter of diesel but I am giving this a chance.

REAL REASON FOR MAKING THIS PURCHASE DECISION
Sportage AWD no test drive available after 4 visits to different showrooms. Hiding a sluggish performance perhaps? Also headroom in backseat in Sportage is... you go check it out yourself and tell me.
Tucson AWD version only available in 2.4 L.
Mitsubishi ASX no AWD option available in M'sia.
Toyota Rush available in RWD only.

bro Zoidberg, how much did you pay? Must be special as the year of manufacture of yours would still be 2011 so old stock and normally special discount given.

It's the same 10k discount plus a few more personal discount to top up my Kembara trade-in value. I was asking for more since it's a 2011 model but non was given based on that. He mentioned the 10k is the only one they can officially give. Did you go for the 1k km service? How much was it? It's stated 5k per service for subsequent km.

He was saying the 2012 arriving models might not have the 10k discount. If not mistaken there are a few more 2011 models leftovers.
