To those driving swift sport, oil filter p/n is 16510-61A21, made in Austria. So barang mat salleh, cannot expect it to be cheap.
My biz is in engine oil. My oil comes with oil filter due to wholeselling price...i get it cheaper!
So, I think paying $30-$40 is way..way..too much.
My suppliers supplied oil filter direct to Toyota & all Japanese marques (in China market) & to be repacked them as "original". Our UMWT ship them back to Malaysia and charge you guys 200% extra. Toyota (Thailand) also get them from the same source as UMWT.

It is true and fact - that's how business goes not for this business only, all the same if without that margin they cant survive.

So I headed to my friendly autoshop, told my problem and he showed me the "just arrived" Indonesian made 'Suzuki Genuine Parts: Suzuki Swift oil filter [Part # 16510-61J00-000]' which cost me RM25.00, it's slightly shorter that the Japanese made.
shorter means lesser filtration material means clog faster mean shorter life span....
"dun play2" with the filter coz everything is enclosed thus u can't see what's happening inside. To me external leakage is secondary coz the most area around the filter area turns dirty. Most important thing is - oil must be filtered and flow in
at correct rate. Could external leakage sign of positive pressure due to clogged filter?
