I have been driving Ford Ranger Hurricance (A) since Jan 2005. Generally it
is a good pick up. I don't have too much complaint except some small items
are missing i.e. No low fuel indicator and Fuel inlet cap needs to be
opened by the car key. This model is a bit dated now compared to the Toyota
Hilux and Isuzu D-max which have better fuel efficiency (common rail). If
you can wait a bit, the new ford Ranger should be out some time next year!
Check out the Thai Ford web site to have a look yourself.

Don't compare with the toyota hilux. hilux is just for show, and is
because of the name TOYOTA. for me, hilux is the worst double cab on the
market.

I just got my Ranger Auto 4X2 about 6 months ago... so far so good, no
major problem, but I wish they have a manual 4x2 through (save more
diesel!). So far I have done the 2nd service and going for the 3rd soon.
Quality wise is good, I can't find much to complain except a little
rattling lately when the truck is idle, not sure why.
Truck giving me about 10.5L/100km... not too bad but wish it could be
better cause I travel a lot. Interior is excellent cause I got the special
edition model with leather seats and all, accessories is complete, safety
is assured with 4 abs and 2 airbags :), power is there... not much to complain.
My colleague got a Hilux, in comparison, Hilux design looks nice and more
sporty and I love the back seat which is spacious like a car. But the ride
is bumpy on the Hilux compare to Ranger. Interior of Hilux is more plastic
I feel and only 1 airbag compare to Ranger. Not to mention handling, Ranger
is one of the better one too.
I have also viewed the L200 Storm and Isuzu D-Max before buying, L200
interior is horrible but outside look very garang but I think the cost to
change those 16" tyres will be a bomb! Plus my friend who drove a L200 say
there's a common problem with the radiator or front bracket or something.
D-Max was cheap cause they took out all the accessories and waiting is long
and doesn't look nice la IMHO
I tested drove the Frontier too, first impression, powerful truck! Superb
response and pick up, but the ride is super bumpy like a cow cart hehe...
and knowing Nissan, the interior is in a way "retro", most of the interior
reminds me of my 1980s Nissan Langley :)
As for zoom zoom... well same as Ford and price is slightly higher cause of
the body kit and I don't need a 4X4 cause I am using it in the city... and
the Ford 4X2 limited edition is really nice, so I got ######ed into it :d
I fixed a top up cover at the back to cover up my cargo from rain and
theft, cost me RM4K but I am happy with it, at least the truck looks more
sporty than putting a canopy :P
So overall I am one happy "power ranger" (that's what some friends call me). :)

webpower, r u sure that frontier ride is super bumpy? from my experience
with all the model i test drive frontier is almost similar to ford ranger
in terms of ride and handling. i think vigo is most bumpy. d-max 2.5 is
very underpower. so if i wanna buy a truck now i also will consider
ranger and frontier. in terms of power frontier wins others hands down,
but interior wise, frontier is very outdated...but remember, ranger
resale value is very very low compare to japanese made...

pro4logic, it's beside the magnum building. which is Honda showroom now,
they use to sell Ford first, then joint to sell Honda, hehe... Ford don't
like this, so i guess they gave them an ultimatum. Vey sad for me, cause
these guys have a very great service support.

If I'm in the market for such a vehicle, and from what is available, I'll
most probably go for the Toyota Hi-lux. But the Toyota doesn't have an
intercooler and have the lowest power output. Strange.
In the looks department the Ranger is getting stale. Just my opinion.
