Discussed over the phone with Bro 9885, several options for consideration

1. Let the Kulim SC Mechanic to quote the parts for replacement so we can compare price.

2. Get a recond gearbox from Balakong Gearbox specialist to replace. Contact and price estimate given.

3. Buy the gearbox plus other related parts as spare from the scrap Rexton. Price and photos given.

4. Bro Rex4585 suggested if PCB board burnt can be replaced for few hundreds by Merc Specialist in Ipoh.

5. Tow to USJ SC is another worthy consideration.

Keep us updated on your situation and decision, so we can see how we can help you further.

If you recall back the history of your problem that all related to wiring, electronic components and short circuit issues. Have you identified the cause of the problem and rectified them? If not, the problem keep recurring every several weeks will really kill your joy of owning a Rexton.

Bro9885 did you add any nonstandard electric or electronic gadget? Any voltage regulator? I am always worried about voltage regulator getting shorted but a strong believer in ground wires. The original ground or negative cable looks skinny and inadequate. Ground wire won't interfere with any electronics but improve current flow. Just my 2 sen.

I second bro rex4585 thoughts too. i have did my grounding cables with 4 gauge wires. A bit pricey but worth it though.

Another 2 cents worth !

Cheers.

None of us in Ipoh this Sat, everyone of us are in Ssangyong Pj Showroom for Group Lunch. So if you bringing down, make you sure you got the address and contact to the Merc Specialist workshop. Should be quite easy to find.

Glad to hear your Rexton is running fine now. If you planning for a full check up, should join Bro BK4t9 to reach earlier. We will need to download your map first for tuning and will upload tuned map during the next gathering or when you passing by Ipoh. Will need at least about 1 weeks time for map tuning.

How long it take for full check up ? Is it done by our Bro or PJ show room ? What time is best to reach PJ ? So that i can plan time to leave PG ? If i go earlier are there anyone around ? Is ok I can download it in IPOH .What i need is a specialist to check up the command problems that usually happen in Rexton car or some modifications eg ground wire etc. Friendly speaking i bought this car for 7 months i don"t hv time to enjoy driving more than 1 month most of time is in and out workshop. I was cheated by second car dealer is ok learn a lesson but i never give up i don"t believe i cannot get it repair like good car.
