engine light on

especially during cool weather or low temperature in the morning, at night or when raining. when these happen the aircond will automatically off and the temperature gauge also not functioning.i share the problem with bro teerex and bro orex, it seems they also are having the same problem. bro teerex told me that it is the coolant sensor fault, he has replace it but the problem still exist. the only solution currently is to stop and switch off the car for a few second and the engine light will disappear, then reduce your aircond to minimal (18c) so that your inside car temperature lower than outside..funny but it works!!!

In the normal day is ok, just only in cold weather like Genting and Cameron. i replace it when i visit to SC. the Coolant sensor is cheap.

How frequent is the problem occurring? I have replaced both coolant sensor and using a Recond Fan Clutch now, but still encountered the same problem twice. Another 2 bros did encountered the same problem too after changing both. We suspect this could be thermostat problem but have not confirmed it yet. I will be getting our Ipoh panel workshop to check these few days, will keep you guys updated on the outcome.

Bro I spoke to Stanley of USJ SC and he said it could be a loose contact at the coolant sensor. My Rexy after changing the VFC never had a repeat of the problem in the last 5 months plus. Before that I had the coolant sense changed but problem remains and can happen a few times a day. Still .........
Btw when problem occurs I notice the electric cooling fans in front of the radiator is running at full speed. Also more likely to happen during cool weather and aircon not at full blast.
Could it be the sudden coming on of the electric fans from idle to full speed signifying a rapidly and abnormal increase in engine temperature causing ECU to shut down aircon compressor? Normally if aircon compressor is running the electric fans will be running at at least slow speed. Just my 1 sen

Worth to check it out if it is a loose connection because it did recover on its own after awhile and usually occurring several more times continuously before disappearing for some time again. Never noticed about the electric fan, but like you said, it happen usually at cold weather, in the morning/night or cold surrounding like in Cameron Highland.
