i just compound at the beginning. then when after removed swirls, watermarks, RIDS, i just use BD as maintenance.
with the correct wash methods, drying methods, swirls, etc still comes back but not for a very very long time.
i cant really answer ur question on BD with LC orange. although I have them, havent had the need to do it. if i do, i most probably use my BoHai.
Just like you I am more into maintenance then correcting......

The reason for me asking is that I use LC orange pad on RB is safer to use for cutting albeit slower with more passes compared with 4-ply purple wool. But the RB is 'pinjam' only...still in the same dilemma whether to get a RB or DA

get a DA.
i primarily use RB for compounding or heavy polishing. which is rare for my cars.
on your car (passat cc) i think should be rare that you would want to do cutting/compounding.
It's easy when you know how...

Thanks for the advice bro...
Actually, I prefer a RB but find it cumbersome with its weight
whereas a DA...well, never tried it before *
* but a lot ppl say damn good but weakness - vibration.

well to me the vibration is not that bad. the ROB vibrates more.

1) go to reputable detailer to get rid of all defect. ( once a year )
2) use DA or RB to do maintainence. ( once per month ).

agreed!
but for number 2, i would use DA or ROB. not RB to do maintenance.

Eh? Typo le bro ROB not RB. Thanz for the correction.
Once use the RB, you will keep it some where until cob webs also got de. Better get a ROB/DA, can play with it every month
