Newcomer here. Anyway, straight to the point, my brother is looking for a
second hand MPV (Evasion, Ulysse) to cater to his expanding family. I am
keen to recommend him a Ulysse 1.9 TD. Would this be a better choice?
Also, is thre any good mechanics in Alor Setar? Any up for sale?
Appreciate feedback.

last month. with this kind of consumption it is reasonable. Mine is 16V
engine.
By the way can owner of Ulysse in M'sia discuss in the AW forum rather
joining overseas forum. Maybe we can share unique experience due to model
variation.

The ulysse or the evasion petrol version would be a good choice for
BEGINNERS. As for me I prefer the TD version because of the long term
economic reason. To own the TD it would best if the owner knows something
about automotive engine especially on diesel. Then it would be
enjoyable to own the TD. The TD is very easy to maintain provided you
know the engine very well. I've lived with my TD almost 4 years and very
satisfied with the mpv. Fuel consumption is half of that of my waja and
the ride and comfort is better than the odyssey. The other good thing, it
can fit in 7 adult comfortably. The only drawback of the TD is that the
1.9 litre engine is small as compared to the 1.5 ton mpv. But on the
highway the intercooler turbo makes the engine feel big, really powerful.
So coming back to your question, I would advice your brother to buy the
petrol version. If he's interested in the TD then consider what I've
mentioned before.

Thank you all for your opinions. Actually, I've been driving a ZX 1.9 D
for the last 1 1/2 yrs. and found not much problem (touch wood) with the
engine. The reason I am recommending a TD to my brother is that I think in
the long run it is the more economical to maintain. From some overseas
magazine of some years back, I have the consumption figure. Not factoring
in the maintenance cost, I think the TD is cheaper to maintain. Plus, my
brother is more technically inclined than I am and I am sure he would be
able to understand the technology better. My only worry is on the Turbo
unit. How to check if they are still good? TQ.

TD is the spare parts. They cost 2-3 times more than the petrol
equivalent.
But i guess if you travel a lot, the saving from the fuel should
compensate for the spare parts.
just my 2 cents opinion

Between the Evasion and Ulysse, do they share the same spare parts ? just
wondering since they look identical...
Can a Citroen mechanic also repair a Ulysse ?
Any idea about technical support for Ulysse in Kuantan?

same factory in France (It was a joint venture between Fiat Auto &
Citroen-Peugeot PSA). Therefore they share same mechanical parts (except
some bodyparts ie. lights, grill). If you know a competent Citroen mechanic
then you're in luck.
