INVECS-II refers to the control system used by the transmission. In most applications by Mitsubishi, the INVECS-II system comes with Tiptronic-style manual overriding.
From personal experience, this gearbox has quite an aggressive shifting programme.
Here's some official info on the INVECS-II from Mitsubishi UK: http://www.mitsubish...ures/invecs.asp

Thanks for the reply. Btw, where you get this infor?
So i would say the tranny used in persona AT is the lower spec version of Mitsubishi Invecs II tranny right?
And what you mean by "quite an aggressive shifting programme"? I want to hear your opinion.

It's quite common info that all the Campro-powered Protons use the same manual and auto gearboxes. One exception is the manual Saga which uses an Aichi Kikai 5M/T instead of the Mitsubishi gearbox used by the Waja, Gen.2, Persona and Neo.
The gearbox model code needed some digging, but because I have an auto Waja at home, the task was as simple as checking the gearbox number stamped on the transmission casing.
As for the knowledge on the INVECS-II, accumulated reading over the years.
I can't say this for sure, but we can safely say that the gearbox would have been specced by Mitsu to meet Proton's requirements.
It downshifts very quickly and readily, both when kickdown, and also when detecting downward slopes. I like this characteristic, but many forummers disagree.

My wife drives it to work, she's slow driver and never high revving...so the gearshift pattern is quick to up shift /shift at lower rpm most of the time
When I drive to KL , the gearbox learn to shift more aggressive

Too bad its only mated to a 1.3.
I like the smooth shift of this gearbox and the willingness to stay at high rev for a long period of time b4 shifting up.
When u learn how to manupilate the throttle,u can really hav fun driving it.
However its not as adaptive as the fuzzy logic gb on the Waja 1.8.
