Latio is a good overall package. For 1.6 segment, I guess I will take Latio over Altis coz it's cheaper and more spacious especially on the leg room for rear passenger. The power for the 1.6 is quite adequate for its size.

Compare the built quality of Latio and Altis first la. The only talk about package value. Cheers.

I would get Altis 1.6 if compared to City 1.5 due to better quality & perception of a better class. A class above.

But nevertheless...shd consider Pug 308. Its a good car with plenty of goodies.

Altis 1.6 as against Pug 308 1.6. So same class, almost similar price ..which would u prefer. I'll go for Pug for extraodinary & euro ride. But for assurances & reliability..I'll stick to Altis. Hoever, I only tested & sat on 1.8 Altis..donno if 1.6 perform better..but read reviews its performance is as good or at par as VIOS 1.5. No kidding.

Altis 1.8 has good FC but donno if 1.6L enjoy such inconsideration of its smaller engine same weight.

I love the 308, different story all together. I get 12.3km/l for the 1.6E Altis, 100% city driving, dunno ok or not. Cheers.

for me, i would cut out city and leave the comparison for the altis 1.6E and latio 1.6.

latio has a more sporty look but i heard that its keyless entry system isnt that reliable. overall, the car is good and power is adequate.

whereas altis 1.6 is a little underpowered with the first 2 gears but once the torque is generated, the car is silky smooth. it's suitable for small town drive and long distance travel too. and its FC is comparable to vios 1.5 though larger and heavier, i think it's because of the gearbox configuration and less power for lower FC.

my personal choice would be the altis 1.6E as reliability and comfort is my main priority.

Altis 1.6 vs new City - should not be a comparison at all in the first place.

The city will be totally outclassed by the Altis. Infact there's a review in Thailand that prefers Altis over Accord!
Think of City vs Civic 1.6 (S'pore ada) say with similar 12K price difference - it would be very obvious which one a Honda fan beng would choose.

Go for Altis if you can stretch your budget.
Or you could also consider the excellent Peugeot 308 as a conti alternative.

Cheers

unofrtunately, there is no civic 1.6 in malaysia while the latio, nevertheless a good car but its just too old. though it was on sale here in 2006, it was actually launched in singapore in 2004. the life cycle is coming to an end. stop the buying and tan chong will quickly bring in the repalacement.

maybe the latest sentra, perhaps?

hi,

maybe you can refer to this list for comparison of a few models within the 'range'.

Unfortunately, the Altis 1.6e is not in, but the 1.8G is there.

The 1.8G is somewhat the 'flagship' for Altis hence its there.

The reason for the omission is because the 1.6e altis lacks a tad too many things to make a respectable comparison with the rest (even with the 1.8G there's a gulf in what is on offer), of course that is just my view.

as for comfort and reliability, all car in the list should score good points in both areas.

please proceed here:

for the list.

happy reading smile.gif

note:
real world fuel consumption for the new 308VTi as reported by owner in Peugeot section is around 13.5km/L (the car not yet fully running in, so it could be better). the 308 Turbo real world FC could be around 12.5km/L or slightly better.

the manufacturer claim FC (in L/100km) for Peugeot 308 is in the list, but can't get the official figure for others (not officially published).
