Scenic,
I confess that I'm a beneficiary of Volvo's poor image. Bought my S70 1998
at 63% depreciation. Just didn't know what new car to get with RM70K. So I
put in a bit of effort and restored the car into tip top condition. I now
enjoy Volvo's legendary safety features and I know I will be able to keep
its running cost low as long as I maintain it properly. Sure beats buying
a proton or some Korean cars. Sure, Volvo has an image problem so don't
buy new. Then again with exception of Merc, which conti car make don't
have that problem.Smile

I must agree with CCL lah.

SO WHAT if i'm driving a brick?
SO WHAT if i'm driving a 'kotak' car that only old farts with 'botak'
heads usually use?
SO WHAT if you don't like my ride?

... you know, it's MY MONEY, man ...
MY HARD-EARNED MONEY (earning it that way since 1996)...
So shut up, and be on your way!

Big Smile

Volvos are not for Ah Bangs. So, all Ah Bengs out there, stay away from
Volvo.

aiyah, why bother about image? msia's motoring world is not exactly
matured what, all the boy racers know are satrias, wiras and civics (OLD
civic, mind you). my fren's TP brother told me recently that they have
Volvos in their watchlist now, because of apparent suicidal tendencies of
these bloody volvo drivers. hey with turbocharged engines and airbag
galore, it's good that most volvos are out of reach of boy racers
otherwise they'd prob want to reach 200kmh on daily basis. one thing
that i could say about msia's bloddy volvo drivers - they're definitely
DIFFERENT.

Guys,

Looking at the bright side.... at least it won't be so painful to our
pocket to acquire all the featues and quality for our next VOLVO. Hehehe

All these are mind control game. BMW or Merc has been so successful in
feeding consumer brain in relating the brand with the consumer lifestyle,
so much so pricing and other related maintenance and reliability issues
are no longer the top priority to them.. even if they can get a comparable
quality and reliability at much lower cost.

Who in this world is denying how bad the Coke or Pepsi can harm human body
with its sugar level and everything else, but it is still one of the best
carbonated drink sold worldwide.

I think without VOLVO Forum like this, today, to most of our mentality,
VOLVO is still the high consumption and maintenance car, old man car,
bricks is still a bricks and bla bla bla.

Moral
"Take good care of your customer and they will take good care of your
product"

Cheers.
