Clorox,

Manage to get your 940? I saw an ad of v940 97 model. The dealer wanted to
sell at RM44900 with dp of only RM99.00. And for 96 model, they are
offering only 38k. You know, they somemore give duit raya of RM500 or a
29" TV. The dealer is at Tmn Greenwood near Bt Caves. But I've seen this
ad for months already appeared almost everyday in a local daily. Anybody
has seen the cars?

I bought mine for 53k - a diff. of 8k. Well, with that amount of money I
think I can respray, overhaul, change the seat/tyres and make the car tip-
top.

Clorox/ Ziemann,
I think better be careful with those cars that has been advertised for a
long time - was told by some pple that they rotate these cars around (
among dealers ) and therefore if the car has been sitting idle for a few
months, rusting could already be occuring in the engine ( something was
written on that by Glock I think see whether you can find earlier post)
and they should drop the price / desperate to sell already
The free gifts are good but until you see and drive the car, these should
not affect your judgement & bringing it to FA for a check (~Rm100) is a
good investment
Good luck

izallyza, rimzadera and others..thank u very much for being helpful.

yup.still hunting.the problem is we are from kelantan, and my dad want to
buy from private seller...not from used car dealer.in kelantan not many
volvo.got to go to kl.that's why long time hunting.so make sense with
pin's advise...i think better get from private seller.

the budget is below rm40k because my dad is also looking for used
mitsu.pajero turbo diesel as workhorse.so the 940 for leisure&long
distance ride&pajero diesel for work.

before this used to own merc-benz 230E (W123) and bmw 318i (E36).benz
really robust, reliable&quite comfort for old car.bmw is fun to drive.if
get the 940 soon,i'll make sure all the important mechanical parts being
checked or replaced.if necessary nevermind to do top overhaul.better
invest some rm & make it perfect first.tired of breakdown.

what to do..not rich to buy brand new volvo.

Rimzadera,

The car sold already to a KL buyer.... Clorox also like you, needs a 4x4
and a comfort car. The 318 E36 cannot go against the 940 LPT though, in
terms of speed, size, roomyness and also maintenance cost. I've already
considered this before getting the 940 and the 940 is more reasonably
priced.

hi everyone...

it is hard to find a good 940 nowdays..! hmmm.. maybe those people who
owns 940 don't want to sell their car becoz of its performance and
reliability..

and i realized that people who owned volvo before, will stick to it... i
mean they become very loyal to volvo... when consider to change a car,
volvo is the top priority... buy a newer model one..

this happen to us oso, rite..? hehehe...

hope clorox will get it very soon... keep praying!

..adios..

Hi! ziemann, I have been looking for 940 lately. The RM38K 940 u
mentioned, I could have seen it. It's a lousy one la.. I always believe
only money can buy good stuffs..there must be a reason for selling below
market.. I have shortlisted one at RM33K (94 model) and another one RM35K
(95 model). I have seen almost all the 940s that advertised in the star.
Its not easy to find a good one in town, especially cheap one. BTW when
did u buy your car & how much have u spent on your car so far? Hope top
hear from u.

Hi Max33, nice to hear from you.

I'm still in honeymoon with my 940 97 model which I bought for 53k.
Expensive compared to the price recommended. So far I've spent RM670.00 to
change/replace spark plugs, timing belt & bearing, ATF, rear axle oil,
Volvo radiator coolant and auto gear lever bush. The amount includes
service inspection, service of air flow meter, US valve, pressure
regulator and brake pads.

Maybe you can check this one out. It is in Kulim. Maybe rimzadera can help
you with this one. The dealer is situated in front of "? Nasi Kandar"
along Jalan Kilang Lama- Kulim, besides Shell station. I'm quite impressed
with the car, beige color with PDG plate, 95/96 model. Exterior and
interior still beautiful. The interior still no kedut-kedut. My only
comment is that the mileage is quite high. I did leave my HP no with the
dealer since he doesn't have a business card but he didn't get back to me.
Supposed grabbed by someone already.

BTW, where are you from?

Regards

I would love to join you at TT. But on that day I'll be in KL to watch
Kedah-Perlis match in Malaysia Cup Final. Aren't you going to cheer for
Kedah team? No..lah. I'm just kidding. I'm going to KL to attend some
family functions.
